Thanks everyone. I took your advice & called my Dad. He denied it, until I told him I read some of the messages. He claims it's only a bit of fun & his wife doesn't know. He said he's not met any of these women in person & the hotel he's going to soon is to meet up with some footy mates. I told him I didn't believe him & it wasn't fair on my stepmum. How would he feel if it was my husband doing this to me? I said marriage isn't easy and if he wanted it to work, he needed to sort this out, not cheat on his wife.
I think he was shocked that I knew what I did & hopefully he knews how much he's upset me and will put an end to this.
As for the situation with Mum, my cousin & Grandma's estate-I looked online and she is entitled to it. The estate would've been shared with mum & her brother (who died), so his share goes to his child (my cousin). It's fair, as far as the law goes, but Grandma wouldn't have wanted that. But it's her fault for not having a will. We told her time & time again to do one.
My Auntie wanted my brother & I to be present at the solicitors when they sort it out. I don't see why-to watch someone say that we're not getting anything...what's the point? I have already told mum what I do want from the house. It's not money I'm after. I want things to remember Grandma by. I've taken some scissors (odd, I know, but I wrapped all the christmas pressies & they remind me of Grandma & christmas), and I want my cross stitches back.
Thanks for the advice & a huge thank you for being there. It means a lot to me. :grouphug:Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Sorry if i'm being stupid, but what does this mean? i realise those of you with standing frames can use one hand on top and one below making your stitching fast and accurate, but i'm confused by these terms!??
No it's not stupid. Stabbing stitch is where you work in and out ever with your needle for every stitch. some people work the needle threw two holes. Railroading is when I bring the needle up threw to complete the last bit of the cross I put the needle in between the 2 strands of thread so thet lie better. Hope that makes sense.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

We acknowledged my dad's 10 years since he died with something in the paper and we visit the gravesite about every 3 months or so.
It also doubles up as a visit to my nan too (his mum) as that's where her ashes were put, into the garden for my dad's grave.
*hugs* to everyone.0 -
Ruth When my gran and papa passed away within 5 weeks of one another. their estate had to be split between their 5 kids as my dad had passed away some years before I got his share which I know did not make the rest of the family very happy as most of them didn't speak to my dad and therefore not me either. As your gran hasn't a will then this is how the law says the estate should be split. I seen it as my cousins would benefit from what their parents got out of the estate so in a round about way we all got something.
Sorry I have no advice about your dad but I'm sending you huge hugs honey xI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Been at a friends house - ds much better today after a 13 hour sleep last night - and been spending a bit of £ (oops) on new coat for dh so he doesn't look like a pensioner any more, and some half price denby which was a bargain cos it was suposed to be half price seconds but they didn't have any seconds left so it was all the decent stuff at half price seconds price iyswim!
Well done for tackling your dad about things Ruth, my dad has always been a one for the ladies and it really screwed up several years of my life till I fell apart and had to tackle it - wish I'd dealt with it all much earlier. At least he knows how you feel and you have 'dealt with it' in a way, now it's up to him. Have no idea about the will thing but agree with the others that you need to give yourself time and space to grieve and we will always be there for you.
Stitching wise have done nowt and really got to do housework, paperwork and schoolwork for the next couple of days and nights so can't see much getting done till Friday night/Saturday morning now (prime stitching time) but am going to try to reward myself with little stitching sessions between the work to motivate me a bit more. I am such a procrastinator I would happily watch clouds go past the window I am cleaning rather than clean it :rotfl:so a stitching 'fix' scheduled in will hopefully urge me on!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Evening all. Firstly a big hug to Ruth - well done for tackling your dad, it must have been really difficult.
Well here is my underwater scene
and this is what it looks like when completed
I've probably got enough fabric left to stitch about half way along the orange fish in the top left. Do you think it will look too strange if I finish half way along that fish?

Lelc - I was a little dubious earlier but now I have seen it I reckon you will be able to get away with it.
Mainly because if you look at the right and the bottom, there are fish cut off there anyway, so it won't look odd if the back of the orange one is missing.
It would have been weird if it was the front of the fish :rotfl:but I honestly think it will look fine, no one but you will know.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
