Hi everyone, god you lot can natter, its just taken 20 minutes to read all your posts since saturday night lol!!
Anyway thanks for all your good luck wishes about stopping smoking..I failed miserably! and I haven't managed to finish first page of my chart so feeling really pants at the minute
I'm going to keep perservering on both fronts though as I KNOW I can do this if I keep trying. I'm not back at work until next Monday and have no plans so have plenty of stitching time in front of me..
mummypig hope you dont mind if I pm you about HAED charts.
Happy stitching everyone and good luck with your April Challenge, will be interesting to see what you all achieve0 -
Misty_Blue wrote: »Poppett - Are you stitching 1 over 1? And are they half stitches or full crosses?
When I start my HAED, I'm planning to stitch on the same fabric you are, but am a bit put off by the instructions on the HAED website which basically say if you need to unpick any it'll be a nightmare because of the density of stitching!
Which design are you hoping to start?
Whoops forgot to say...I'm doing full stitches.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -

poppett - that's looking great, so detailed.
Louiseey - Welcome to the thread, please do post a pic of your work
Keiss - I am desperate for you to get some more of the astronomer done to show us!!
Emzy - look forward to seeing you update, I was like MRSM and got muddled which one yours was
Edit: You posted while I was typing. Have you considered 'blocking' your areas? It might make it a little easier for yourself.
pm2326 - Well...that was obviously just your practice attempt;) Good luck starting the real one now :T
Misty - you can always change the fabric for a larger count if you think it would put you off. I KNEW I wouldn't get my lake finished if it was teeny stitching, which is why I changed the fabric for 14ct.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Emzy, I love the Seven Hearts design, a friend of mine has that as her profile pic on FB and I didn't realise it was a HAED until I just looked it up. You've made a great start.

Thanks for the info, Poppett.
I did a Teresa Wentzler design once which had some petit point in it, and I remember how tiny that was. I can't imagine doing a whole design in stitches that small!
Which design are you hoping to start?
I want to tackle the 7 Deadly Sins range, starting with this lady:

EDIT: Louise - I've thought of changing the fabric count, but they recommend not doing that (for best results) on the HAED site. Plus I've seen a guy who's stitching one of the Deadly Sins range on Facebook, on the same count as Poppett is working on, and the stitching is amazing - like an oil painting.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

Beautiful, now when I was looking through the HAED site to find my first chart I fell in love with the 7 deadly sins too and it was a toss up between one of those or Garnet. Being my first one I thought I'd do Garnet in case I gave in. Hubby then said he'd get me the 7 charts for 7 deadly sins for my birthday (back in March) but I told him to wait first to see what I thought of doing this one. Now I'm getting stuck into it I think I'll tell him to go ahead....only I'll wait until HAE have another of their sales on. That should then keep me busy for the next 10-15 years!!!!!£2 savers club. Thanks Mrs M and Louise. I thought they were probably the same and the difference in price is so little it's not really worth worrying about. Will get it this week and then the credit card won't need paying for another month or so. Be glad when I'm earning proper money again, I'm not used to counting the pennies.
Mind you, single motherhood might change all that!!!! can't believe how much such a little person needs.
I'm now looking through the site just to make sure I only want the one... willpower, what willpower?
xxxxCross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way

Thanks to all who directed me to Quidco - £289.30 since Nov 09 :beer:0 -
well, ive just looked at my chart pages and there are 36 chart pages  but 11 of them arent complete whole A4 pages (thank goodness!) so ive worked out if i do a page a month it will take 2 years and 1 month to do the 25 whole pages and then maybe another 2-3 months to do the rest......hmmmm Im kind of wishing I hadn't worked that out!
Right there is no way this is taking me over 2 flipping years.....My pledge is to do 2 A4 pages by the end of April, if that means no sleeping then you'll just have to put up with posts that make no sense lol
MRSMCAWBER wrote: »Keiss -Come on you know you want to get stuck into your astronomer-especially with the next 2 HAE charts you are planning
Well alright...ideally I too would like to stitch 2 chart pages a month...(I once entertained the idea of doing a chart page a week!)
Lets see if I can complete this first challenge,, then perhaps I can gear up to 2 (or more?!) charts a month.
