Thank you so much for that info. I hate my doctors, but I might have to go and have a chat with them.
Just noticed your location-my Grandma was in Tewkesbury hospital for a couple of weeks before she was moved to Cheltenham when she got the chest infection. Small world...

    Hope it helps.

Re small world - yup, I did think that when you talked about being in Gloucester with your parents.

    Good luck at the GP's.

If your depression is affecting your work, you may get help/referral from your HR...and they may pay for all or some of any treatment you get!

louise Can I ask - how big is that lady by the lake? And how long did it take to stitch? Only asking because I'm planning a monster of a pattern and have no idea how long it might take.

Hi - it measures 20x27 inches and took 7 months. That was pretty much constant though, averaging 4 hours every night, sometimes more.

Which chart are you thinking of doing??

Dorastar-- that is such a cute design. I have a feeling I have seen the chart somewhere before, is if from a magazine or did you get a kit?

Fairies is a Bothy threads kit - but this is the second time I'm doing it cos my daughter loved it. Have let her choose the colours with me to use up odds and ends of thread I've got so it looks different to the Bothy one. Have started doing wings in metallic as well to make them stand out a bit from the fairies.

    Hi.
Thanks Louise, I manage 2/3 hours most nights, so will probably take about 16 -18 months at a guess. So will hope to finish for Xmas 2011:eek:

It's a picture I've taken from the web and converted. http://gallery.me.com/judith0909#100607/HS73000A&bgcolor=black

You must post an update when that lady by the lake is framed, can't wait to see the finished look.

Ruth_honey, have you tried contacting Cruse? They might be able to offer counselling faster than your GP. I think they have a helpline, too.

Mine did - paid for 6 one hour sessions. It was a god send because there was (maybe still is) a 2 year waiting list here for one-to-one counselling on the NHS. Even in 6 sessions I got a lot from the counselling, it's amazing what can pour out of you when you have "permission" to talk to a stranger. I spent most of each session in tears but even that was a relief as I don't like crying in front of my family.

Our local branch of MIND the mental health charity offer counselling sessions, priced according to how much you could afford. Some people pay a fiver for an hour and some can afford £40. It might be worth checking with them.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I have emailed them, but they don't have a branch in my area. They sent me details of another place which should be able to help. It's just making that call...

On a lighter note, I had to smile at our neighbours cat. She was fast asleep on the fence for hours this afternoon. Such a hard life...

I missed the best pose, when she had her paws outstretched in front of her. She has white 'boots' and looked so cute! She's such a pretty cat, but she's quite dim, bless her!

Right am having a serious decluter and cull of UFOs that I either bought and now don't like or were meant to be done so long ago they aren't going to get used now, and a few charts people have passed on to me that I will also never get round to. If anyone wants any of them then just let me know and I can send them on or they're off to the charity shop.

Country companions - large hedgehog in green wellies holding spring flowers - have got the whole kit . Did one of the smaller ones and nearly came to blows as they have lots of threads where they use one strand of a brown shade with another one and I just can't tell the difference!

Anchor kit - Flowers from the garden - is 19" x 17" and has irises, pansies, butterflies and other gardeny flowers (sorry cant be more descriptive and camera has just given up again) The kit was given to me and looks like it has the threads and chart in it.

The rest are just random charts I've been given and are a bit old but mght be of use to someone to do ?
    - A gardening teddy chart - finished size 13cms diameter
    - A blue tit chart - finished size 11cm diameter (and hoop to frame it)
    - A chart for Eastgate, Chester with thebridge and clock thingy - 10" x 12.6"
