    Fantastic work everyone! :T:T

    Your next project looks awsome
    pennib!

I spent most of this week sewing an All-Black rugby bear for DS2's birthday (on Thursday). Will post a piccie once I have sorted out my photobucket account or set up a different photo site...I can see the latter being the case!

Nothing done on The Astronomer this week..may manage some tomorrow. Mind you, as DH and DS2 are away, I might do some more knitting (for DH's birthday in less than three weeks time!)...It's a secret, so can only knit when he isn't here! ;)

I do like making life complicated for myself!! :D

Then there are the Mothers' day cards to make too...oooh I have too much to do!

Off to bed now so I can get up reasonably early and get lots done...planning on sowing some seeds tomorrow too...

    Have a great Sunday everyone.

Sweetcarer; that is a lovely project. Are you going to frame it or do something else?

I hope to get it framed - trying to work out cost. Usually I frame myself but I don't know if I will get one to fit or should I get a framer to do it. Not had one professionally framed before. Do framers do a good job or do they stick it with glue and then frame?

Whenever I have a non-standard size "work of art" I get a framer to make the frame and I actually do the framing part myself, if you see what I mean. I'm quite particular about getting the picture just right in the frame and if someone else does it I spend ages scrutinising it for flaws

A lot of framers use spray adhesive to mount x-stitches -my mum had a couple done (before we knew that was what they did) and I took them back as they "bubbled" like wallpaper does ...since then we always do our own..
My plan when we move back to the UK is to get hubby enrolled in a frame making course ...
pm2326 -that looks brilliant -well done... and the next project you have in mind is gorgeous :T.... I have a couple of american indian ones I did yonks ago -this is one of them

I used that a couple of times but after a while I noticed the fabric was yellowing and I put it down to the spray adhesive, perhaps reacting with the daylight.

I now use that self-adhesive mountboard from art and framing shops - a poster size sheet for £3 or £4 is enough for several pictures. If I'm mounting something stitched on dark fabric I use a double-sided self adhesive film applied onto black mountboard and then stick the needlework into it - stops the white board showing through the holes.

i really like that tree one - but i think it's a bit beyond me.

i just finished a poundland kit UFO with lettering taken from a magazine last month. i'm a little embarased to show it, as it's noting compared to your amazing efforts (and i didn't notice there were 2 different oranges till after i'd done the big flower :o), but perhaps someone can advise on the best way to mount it for a card without buying a card with a hole in it?

I quoted you to say about fraying the edges, then when I scrolled down further I saw pm had said the same thing. This is probably the best way, as it's a lot easier than centring it in an aperture card. Save the hard stuff for when you have more experience. Brilliant job by the way, I'd be pleased if someone gave that to me.:)

Humphrey is still coming along slowly. I'm back at work, one day per week, from tomorrow so I'll have even less time to fit everything in. Most of this week has been wasted worrying about it though so maybe it will be better once that first day is over and done with.

I've put Kezia in her swing, whilst I have a quick cuppa and read the paper. If it sends her to sleep like it sometimes does, I'll try to do some more.

Thank you pm2326, kezbabybabe, nmm and harley for the advice - i think i'll go with the majority vote, keep it simple, and fray the edges! Thanks for the link to the tutorial too nmm! i've got some plain blank cards from a previous project so i'll be MSE and use one of those up.

Thanks also for your kinds words about my little effort. But looking at the photo on here, it makes me think the stems look odd - i might try to add a leaf?
