  • Oooh Kevin, thank ou for posting these pics -I've been so intrigued about your stuff since I saw some of your earlier postinngs. :rotfl:Monkey farts made me laugh so much but they all look so good :D

Poppy - I make jewellery too - it should come a health warning for being totally addictive, I turn into my six year old "oooh sparkly" when ever I'm in a bead shop. We have an amazing one near me which is pretty much cheaper than anything i have found online. I love the idea of the miracl;e beads tho - I haven't seen any of those before.:T:T:T:T:T

I've done 15 squares of my sofa throw so far but nothing else yet - poor weather is still keeping us indoors so I haven't been able to make a start on getting scrappy stuff yet. I want to start by making some covered notebooks and boxes to hold the recipe cards. I also want to make teeny weeny sock monkeys useing baby socks!

Hugs to you all Sally :smileyhea

Okay I really should be revising but my crafty side is winning over ...

I really want to make my own candles but not sure where I can purchase wicks from. Any suggestions? Also, to fragrance the wax, is it the same frangrance oil that would be used for an oil burner?
  • Evening fellow crafters. I'm far too tired to do anything tonight. Was gonna ask you reakon them chucks could be made with fabric and sewn togeather? They look funky, but I can't knit. I too need to look for scrappy bits for patchwork throw. I reakon market and local fabric shop could be good for this!

i've brought wicks off ebay in the past, although they're usually sold in large quantities most sellers will sell you less if thats all you require :)

You can get wicks from eBay. If you let me know the size of the container and the type of wax you want to use I can recommend a wick size if you'd like.

The oil you use is NOT the type used in an oil burner. You need Fragrance Oil which is the same kind used in soaps etc.

    hi all,

I really want to thank you all for inspiring me and motivating me into making projects again - got loads ideas for pressies for this year now:j

As you can see, I've even just signed up and this is my first posting as opposed to always browsing at last.

Anyway, I've found some extra easy knitting patterns for scarves, and some lovely recipies for bath fizzies and infusions in books at home which I can't wait to start :D

I've also tried to sort out my sewing machine, having trouble with the top tension, think will have to get it looked at, hoping nothing too bad.

Wish we had a reasonable priced bead shop where I live.
A thimble full of beads at the bead shop in my town is around £8!

I was going sparkly crazy over my button order from JosyRose- got some amazing butterflies and diamante hearts. I love buttons!

I was poorly for the first 12 weeks with nausea and a poorly leg and hip... that went was fine for a few months now I`m back to the nausea again with occasional sickness. Have a really sore throat now too which is awful.:(
People have been telling me that I`ll have no time for crafting when baby is here... I`m hoping to strike a balance :D

    Poor you!

No, you'll have plenty of time for crafting. I actually do more now than before I had the baby! Plus now she goes down at 7pm, no bother, so I have the evening to myself. Plus during the day I do bits while she's playing in her donut or in her jumperoo thing. She's happy as long as I'm still interacting with her...

d1sco_queen: lovers mitts - my god, they sound fab!

ETA: Found a pattern to download here which I love as it's shaped like a heart too: http://cocoknits.com/knit/garments/accessories/smitten.html
