    Last night I did this:

    P1020709.jpg

I have quite a few of these baby formula tins stashed on the top of my cupboard as I am always thinking that they are too good to bin and would be useful for storage. Until now I haven't got round to actually doing anything with them. Then the other day I spotted and bought a roll of sticky vinyl from Home & Bargains for 79p and thought it would be perfect to cover the tins.

Going to cover a few and put them on my shelf to store my craft bits & bobs!

    Ooh. That's really pretty:T

Ive just measured one and he is 4.5 inches tall ( not including legs).

You could knit triangles to create the body although the Rowan chickens are knit in one piece then the legs, tail and comb are crocheted using basic stitch.

I pop a small bean bag in the bottom then stuff with toy filling. It just helps them to sit nicely.

Thanks Poppy. I'll have a go in a while. I have a traffic jam of projects to do at the moment - most the result of the inspiration overload caused by all you lovely people on this thread!!!!

I`m going to stop hogging this thread:o!

Was terribly sick this morning ( morning sickness) so am off for an afternoon nap!

NO NO NO NO NO - don't stop posting so much on this thread. We NEED you. You are a great source of inspiration and very generous at sharing your expertise. Sorry that you are so sick, though. It's a horrid, horrid thing this morning sickness. I can still remember despite my youngest being almost 35!!!! Hopefully it won't last for too long and you will be feeling more energetic. Take care.

I'm playing catch up with you all at the moment so please be patient with me. The gingerbreadman is brilliant. Love him. do you knit a square, then felt it, cut it out and sew him or do you actually knit him that shape?

Oh you are a busy lot - I'm really behind myself !
Was all set to go out today but stomach still bit 'iffy' so waiting to see if there's a prescription for me at GP's at 3 then OH can collect it.

Really must get down to the craft shop -need some christmassy paper and she has a sale on now...bound to be something to cover my twiglet boxes with.
Must think of a few ideas for gravy tubs - they're ideal to fill a shoe box that needs posting -easier on the weight.
Only thing I can think of so far is to fill a tub of freebies I get..........make up, stuff like that so is a 'mini make-up tub'
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • To make a mw bracelet like mine you need a 5/6 coil of bracelet mw.

If using a larger coil that needs cutting down, make sure you use proper memory wire cutters!

I used round nose pliers to coil one end into a ring, then thread on your beads. The beads I used in mine are from different sources. Ive used glass pearls, illusions beads, tibetan charms and beads, glass beads, acrylic beads and aluminium beads.

Eeek when I think about the cost of my bead collection!

To finish off coil the end once again with round nose pliers and either leave like that or add a little charm like my angel.

The bracelet took me around 30 mins to make.

    That's really helpful, thanks
