  • Poppy - On Etsy I'm assuming you have the same username? Your Lilac Dream bracelet is beautiful (I may have to buy it!), what does it say on the charm???

    Hi BabyFranny

    Thanks so much!:D

I`m the same on Etsy.... the lilac dream has some silver butterflies and a heart tag/charm which says handmade with love on it.

On that particular bracelet it has some purple miracle beads which don`t show up in the pic how they do in the flesh. They give the effect of a bead in a bead and I absolutely love them!

Oh no! I was lucky when I was pregnant I didn't have ANY morning sickness so I don't know what it's like. I have a 6 month old now and am on maternity leave at the moment so enjoying that side of things. I split my time between looking after the baby and doing crafts :T.

I was poorly for the first 12 weeks with nausea and a poorly leg and hip... that went was fine for a few months now I`m back to the nausea again with occasional sickness. Have a really sore throat now too which is awful.:(
People have been telling me that I`ll have no time for crafting when baby is here... I`m hoping to strike a balance :D

Thanks Poppy. I'll have a go in a while. I have a traffic jam of projects to do at the moment - most the result of the inspiration overload caused by all you lovely people on this thread!!!!

NO NO NO NO NO - don't stop posting so much on this thread. We NEED you. You are a great source of inspiration and very generous at sharing your expertise. Sorry that you are so sick, though. It's a horrid, horrid thing this morning sickness. I can still remember despite my youngest being almost 35!!!! Hopefully it won't last for too long and you will be feeling more energetic. Take care.

Aww thanks susan:j thats so kind of you :j

I think I've fallen in love with these chooks!!:heart::heart::heart:

How big are they? Would it be easy to knit without the pattern? I haven't got any organic kids to knit for at the mo so I'm wondering whether I can do it without. Does it have a tail? I quite fancy one of these sitting on top of the egg safe in the kitchen.........although that might not be such a good idea as I can imagine having to wash it rather frequently. Mmmmmmmm I shall have to think.

Last summer I bought some round baskets - you know, the type you can use on a surface for putting things in, not the shopping kind - for a few pence at a car boot sale. My idea at the time was to line them and fill them with goodies as pressies. Never got further than good intentions at the time as was planning our daughter's wedding and knitting for our son's new babe who arrived just before Christmas. Yesterday I got round to lining the first. I'm reasonably pleased with the way it has turned out. Need to add some decorative touches to finish and then will post a photo.

Just been looking for the pattern... and cannot find it in my knitting basket.. looks like another trip to John Lewis for the Organic Kids book for me... I hope I didn`t just throw it out... can`t see that I would tho.

Anyway a trip to John Lewis is on the cards, they have fab sewing kits and I love the Rowan Yarns.

    Hi everyone,

Finally gotten round to taking some pics of the soaps I made before christmas. I should have posted the here really, but there aren't enough hours in the day!

Apologies in advance for the pics... I needed to enhance them in photoshop quite a bit due to the appalling light of the last few weeks.

Firstly, a couple of 'floaps'. One is a mix of chocolate and coconut and the other is passion flower FO. Both have a small amount of shea butter.

Next are a couple of guest soaps. The green one is Lime, Basil and Mandarin and the brown is sandalwood with it's colour coming from ground walnut.

This one is Pomegranite Noir. The bottom (white) layer is packed with shea and the black bits are poppy seeds.

This one is called Pink Wishes and is fragranced with a floral / rose blend.

This is a new-and-improved version of Monkey Farts. The white layer on top is fluffy soap with added shea.

This one was a Christmas special... Brown layer is christmas spice with added orange peel and oats. Yellow and white are sugar frosting and both have shea.

Finally, a white musk soap made with red chunks of the same fragrance.

All of my family and friends got some of these soaps as well as being hugely popular online and at craft fairs.

Just incase any of you were wondering: All of my recipes have been assessed for safety by a chartered chemist and they all conform to the EU Cosmetics Directives.

Thanks for looking everyone and I'm sorry to HOG!

  • Hi all,

    Im new here!

I have read all of the posts and come away with too many ideas!:rotfl:I have always made a few smaller stocking filler type presents (silver bookmarks with charms, mobile charms, knitted phone/ ipod socks ect) but this year would like to do a bit more!

Cant remember who it was as it was ages ago but someone posted something about making a lovers hamper?! I made one of these a while back for my boyfriend in mine i knitted a 'lovers mittens'.. these are 3 mittens two normal mitts and then one big mitt with two cuffs and space for two hands so you can hold hands in the cold! I cant upload pictures of them nor can I find my knitting pattern but im sure you can Google it to get an idea! :o

Im not sure what to start next!
