Liesa - Oooo a photo of your ghosts. I love them. Just right for halloween decorations. Also love the glittery shoes. Every girl needs a bit of sparkle, don't you think?

    Hi Boys and Gals,
I asked a few pages back "is knitting with chunky needles easier than skinny ones?" and also is there a type of wool that is easier to knit with? any tips for avoiding big holes and loops?

If anyone could help with the knitting queries, I'd be grateful! :) x

Jamtart - I think the easiest yarn and needles to use would be bog standard double knit (DK) and size 4mm needles. This will grow reasonably fast and it is easy to see whether you have just done a knit or a purl stitch and it's relatively easy to count your rows. With boucle (knobbly) yarn or very fluffy yarn it is difficult to see the stitches. As far as avoiding big holes and loops I think it'd just a matter of practice. The more you knit the more even your knitting becomes.

    Poppy?

Where do you get your wire coil from? I have a bead supplier nearby but they don't do the other accessories.

PJ Beads is where I get my memory wire from http://www.beadsales.co.uk/retail/#3825X6538

Each bracelet is 15p then VAT added and postage.

They do wholesale also for orders over £50.

It's beautiful, thanks for the instructions, I was drooling over it on your blog earlier :) So, excuse my denseness, is it like a spiral and held on your wrist like a cuff ?(drooling even more) Where do you suggest the best places to buy beads... ebay? *wipes slobber on sleeve*

    :D

Hi whoopidoo, yes memory wire is sold either as individual 5/6 coil rings bracelets or you can buy a huge coil and cut off the amount of rings you need.
Memory wire comes in adult&child bracelet size, rings and chokers.

What is great is that the adult one fits any size as the memory wire adapts to individual wrist size.

I buy beads from all different sources, PJ Beads, Jilly Beads, Josy Rose, Hobbycraft, local habadashery stores, Ebay, Etsy to name a few.

liesauk - Your things are fab! The ghosties are so cute! I don't know why you are being so hard on yourself! Soon there will be a ghosties thread to rival the sock monkeys :D

princesspoppypop - what a gorgeous bracelet! My friend is into her jewellery making and is trying to wean me onto it. She bought me a set of bits for christmas last year and I've dabbled with bits but I'm not sure it's something I could really get into. I would probably just make charms for cards and the likes.

An update on the bear, he is all knitted up and just ready to be sewed together now. So I will be able to post pics as soon as he is assembled.

Today I bought another roll of sticky backed plastic from Home & Bargain for 79p. It's pink and yellow flowery and I'm going to use it to cover some tins. I'll post on my blog as soon as I've done. I say another roll as I picked up some black and white stuff the other day.

I also picked up a wooden rotating desk holder/letter rack thingy for £1.30 from the charity shop; which I intend to re-decorate but not sure how yet...

    Thanks li`l_p.

I can`t wait to see your bear. Ive still go the legs and 1 arm to knit up then the little jacket. Ive been a bit naughty tho and started a skinny beaded scarf as well rather than finish what I was doing!

Had a good sort out of my craft mags and have removed the pages I want to keep and plan to put these in a craft scrap book. The rest will go to be recycled. I had far too many!

I am notorious for doing that. I start things and never finish them. I started the bear in a light brown coloured wool and moved over to the fluffy stuff. So it was an achievement to get him finished!
