    Sammy Kaye,

I found the calendars to be really cost effective. I discovered that getting all the photos printed at the same time (using an online photo store - think it was Tesco) worked out a lot cheaper than printing myself - something like 3p per photo. If you have over X amount of prints the cost is cheaper so its best to get them all done at once. I also qualified for free P&P. :D

As far as soap survival kits - how about a mug (featuring soaps, Asda and Tescos print mugs with photos of your choice) with hot chocolate and marshmallows. One of those blanket/coat thingies would be good to snuggle into sofa to watch soaps (previous posters have links how to make your own). Plus Amazon seems to have some deals on tv themed stuff e.g. this Emmerdale Companion is just a couple of pounds:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emmerdale-Companion-Celebration-25-Years/dp/075281043X/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1270819341&sr=8-19

    Good luck!

Hi everyone :D Just popped on to catch up but spotted the soap discussion :P Have you seen this website? Maybe upload your nan into a soap scene? Just type what soap she likes in the search box at the top ;)

Have been working on a canvas for my eldests birthday on Sunday, she's going to be 13 :D Yes this is using the graffiti class techniques and was so much fun to make. Haven't uploadedthe completed canvas to my blog yet but will linky when I do. She snoops on there but doesn't know about this chat thread so think I'm safe to show you *g* It's got a photo on it of when she was messing around posing with her little sister and this is her favourite photo when they were being 'gangstas' :D

awwwwww chick - have a very suspicious looking hug :grouphug: and hope your feeling better soon. x

Thanks to all about the soap basket /survival kit.

Might have a look on Amazon for books about her favourite soaps.

A soap style mug ---- either with corrie or emmerdale on it with Christmas style fruit teas in it - she cant have caffeine so needs to be tea im afraid.

maybe some nice biscuits - although might get Ben to make and decorate these for her.

a comfy blanket to cuddle in.

Home-made 'do not disturb' sign (might make it collaged of soap characters)
    Time to find me again

i cant remember who but some one mentioned doing a shabby chic look with frames, which i have already done myself! i started with a print i bought that said LOVE in calligraphy and thats the centre, and the idea is it grows with more pictures and frames over time.
    how do i post pictures?
i have lots of ideas for xmas, so thank you all very much already!!
    claire

That was me :) I got another tiny white frame for 30p from a charity shop the other day, and will be keeping an eye out for some at the car boot sale tomorrow. I also bought the fabric and laces I need for my scarf, 40p each from the little ribbon and scrap bins at Boyes, will take that to my mam's tomorrow night to get started when everyone else has gone to bed.

Last night at Asda I bought a bag of chocolate eclairs for 31p, the Smartprice range but they have nice a sort of 'antique gold' wrapper, so would be good for pots of gold :)

Sammy, a student hamper could include - a city guide to the place she's moving to, a student cookbook, writing pad, nice pen, and a4 ringbinder for her work, diary/organiser, phone topup voucher if she's on pay-as-you-go, tin of beans is a good one or some basics 4p noodles :rotfl: , maybe some jars of herbs and spices, or bottles of sauces like soy or chilli, lucozade and a banana as a hangover cure :rotfl: photo frame with a picture of family in it
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Scrapbook finished :j Well, think so -can't think what else to add to is. Now all the extra journalling stuff and photos and frames are in a sort of mixed heap so they need sorting out in some kind of order so maybe the next one will be easier.

Neighbours daughters just popped round to do hoovering and mop floor (much to OH's disgust when footballs on tele..............lol) She thinks the button bracelet on the tape I did the other day is fine but with the velcro popping undone she suggested a buttonhole fastening.............so, might try that.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share some of my latest soaps with you.

I'm in the process of getting these assessed by a safety assessor to sell but you could make them for your family and friends as gifts without doing that. (You might want to check with your local TS office as their rules vary widely!)

First is wild fig and cassis, second is lavender and third is cappuccino!

Something like gingerbread men cutters would be cute
A scrapbook to put recipes in so they can start a collection
    Sprinkles and bun cases
    Mixing bowl and wooden spoon
Some basic ingredients for recipes that they can do straight away, if it's Christmas you could do Christmas cookies so ribbon to hang them on the tree and icing sugar and food colourings...
