I got a couple of glass candlesticks from ebay, and wanted to make cake stands for a friend's birthday. She's mad on dogs, so I thought I'd done well in getting a plate with cartoon dogs on it from ebay too, but when it arrived it was only the size of a side plate. I was at Home Bargains yesterday though, and they had 2 gorgeous different dog designs in a circular melamine tray. Stuck them on last night, and they look perfect - they are a really good size for either one large cake or lots of cupcakes. I am very pleased with them, and hope that she will be to.
Candle holders were £2.50 inc postage for 2, and the trays were 99p each!0 -

Hello all, I'm new. Can I join in with your fabulous craftiness?
Although I'm not artistic, I can be crafty and I really enjoy it. Recently discovered a love for knitting, plus am always skint, so I'm looking forward to a crafty Christmas, if I start now.
I currently have two scarves on the go for my OH and a friend, but after that, I'm going to start knitting scarves for Christmas for my Dad, sister and stepmum. Have already promised my mum one.
I love the handwarmers. My sister used to have one and it was great - I'm definately going to make my mum and sister one this year! I've also just rediscovered my pliers and some wire from when I went through a homemade jewellery stage - I think I need to try that again.
Going to go and read some more pages now!0 -
PepPop...I officially love you!! Thats EXACTLY the thing I'm looking for!!

All I've done today is make four cards........and they were really meant to be little notelets (running a bit low) -thought I'd use up some of my odd bits of card and paper................still, they look nice I think.

I'm more skint this year than ever so trying to aim for a 'cost free' pressie time.........or at least as cheap as it humanly possible.................lol
Any ideas welcome............amazing when you look round the house what you can do with things that are lurking in drawers and been forgotten about.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
