    Hi all

Happy Valentine's Day! I got up early to make DH some heart-shaped biscuits as I had forgotten to get him any chocolates or a card. Bad wife! I used the recipe I use for Christmas gingerbread shapes for the craft fair only I should have halved it and forgot. Have ended up with 200 heart-shaped biscuits! Took some church and came back to find DH in kitchen saying "No more biscuits, ever! I feel sick". So I found some pink chiffon material I had left and wrapped up some in that for the neighbours and my parents. Still got about a hundred left though....

Edit: Forgot to say! I was in John Lewsi yesterday and they've got some great things for Easter. Stupidly expensive of course but some good inspiration things, like little baskets applied with flat knitted daffodils and chicks, and crocheted egg covers in the form of chicks and bunnies. Not sure if they're on their website but definitely worth a look. Would post a pic if I knew how!

Wow - that's lovely. No one else will see the faults - Even if they did, I guarantee they prefer a hand-knit with faults to a factory-made 'perfect'. It's the same with home-made cakes too isn't it?

BTW I am left-handed and learned right-handed. I think it's the easiest way and you can follow patterns easier too

  • Hi All

Just wanted to share that I cross stitched these for my nans birthday last year.

    P210309_0739.jpg
Its a card, bookmark and gift tag and I did make her a covered diary but forgot to take a finished photo otherwise i would add that too :o

Either way since it is half term here in south Wales and realistically the prospect of going outside seems to be fading fast I have decided to have a craft week with Benjamin. I'm thinking that as of tomorrow when I'm paid we might go and find a few more craft pieces and he can make easter cards for people. (We have 9 to make I think but could get away with 8) so think that might be a project for him to do this holiday.

I am determined to get my cross stitch finished though. This is the last photo I took and this is about 70% done Picture026.jpg

well it has progressed to about 90% done now - just lots of back stitching and the few odd stitches now to finish off but I will get it done if it kills me because its a mothers day present for my mum.

    Also I have this fabric

and a close up of the pattern

I got it in a charity shop for like £2 and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what i could do with it?

Me again. On the ball today with crafting ideas

Has anyone seen anything like this about?
    http://www.partydelights.co.uk/images/easter/EASTTOY10.jpg

I was thinking instead of buying my little nieces an Easter egg each I would get a few eggs and fill with an assortment of little sweeties - like the coop do 3 for £1 on gummy sweets etc and see if i can find/make a little Easter basket for them each with a little chick or too as well.

My mum and sister are getting girly tool boxes (pound land) with the compartments filled with sweeties - already have the boxes - just need sweets.

Was also thinking I might make an egg basket for my boyfriend - see if I can get a pack of these -
    a basket like this

and fill it with either freebies/sweets/chocolates/VW/motorbike items.

  • Sammy Kaye - love the cross stitch. Your Nan must have been over the moon to receive such a thoughtful pressie.

The fabric is really pretty. How big is the piece?

Thanks - she loved it and I got her a nice writing set to go with it too.

The fabric is about 2 meters squared. I do have a couple of other pale coloured sheets in a a pale green and a pale yellow and also a few white old curtains that can be chopped as needed and a wine red fabric that was a bridesmaid dress lining.

Oh and 3 sets offrosted green coloured curtains
