I think charity shops are getting wise to our buying for crafting! I am finding small empty tins and containers for £1 each! They should be 20p  They used to be!

Sorry, its just a little Wednesday afternoon rant :rotfl:

Has anyone else found that since the recession the only people actually putting their prices UP are the Charity shops!!
I have found that clothes and linen have gone up by about 25-30%, I buy a lot of games for playstation and things but they too have gotten very expensive!

Our charity shops seem to be more expensive than last year especially clothes. I still find the odd bargain among the gifty things though..........bit his and miss, depending whats there at the time.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Yes, I've found that too. I went to my hairdresser today in Sheerness and always have a quick look in the charity shops. The Scope one especially, has 2nd hand stuff dearer than Quality Seconds which is just over the road!

Whoopidoo..... found a brilliant fabric shop in Sheerness today, don't know if you know of it? Called Pea Bees or something like that, in Rose St/Hare St. She had loads of fabrics, much more choice than John Lewis at Bluewater or Hobbycraft - and a sale on. I got some lovely oriental bird fabric for £4.50 a metre! (Needless to say, I bought what was left on the roll... just over 2 metres).

I didn't either: I was reading my new patchwork magazine in the hairdressers and came across an advert for it. It's lovely in there, so many fabrics to choose from, and all sorts of discounts, from 10% to 50% on certain fabrics. Take plenty of money if you go!

Where the market is? I think I've seen the shop and was very close to going in the other day but as usual was in a mad rush to get the shopping done, get the kids to the hairdressers and get home to do deliveries for OH! Thanks for telling me Chris. How brilliant! Will make sure I definitely go in next time I'm down, which will hopefully be tomorrow or Friday as a trip to Tesco is in need. Didn't realise they sold fabric - thought it was all papercraft stuff which is why I didn't make a big fuss about going in as am going to Ally Pally in April. Ooooh. Excited now!

The charity shops in Sheerness are very expensive. Demelza House is the exception, they are very reasonable and sometimes you can get a bargain in the RSPCA. I rarely look in Scope unless I know they are doing the book offers which they do occasionally throughout the year.

I'm not sure where the market is, as I only go to Sheerness when I go to the hairdresser. Do you know where Boots is? There's a little alleyway next to it, it's down there, facing a pay and display car park. Couldn't see any craft stuff, just all the fabric. Well worth a look if you love fabric!

I think it might be the one I'm thinking of... if not it's only a street over. The market is held in one of the pay & display carparks on a tues & sat , near beezkneez hairdressers. Brilliant. Thanks Chris.
