My clearing the cards and saving for a holiday diary

Right enough wallowing, seeing a few friends today and going out soon.
I have joined YouGov and am doing my bingo, Lightspeed, Synovate, Valued Opinions and (occasionally) clicks to pay for Xmas. I also ebay and have lots of books on Green Metropolis and have joined a Mystery Shopping site ie I can't do any more so just need to be a bit easier on myself.
I paid off a card this month but it has left me short and I've had to draw on another card and have felt a bit miserable. On the other hand if I get rid of these cards this year then I will have an extra £100 a month to spend from next year. I need to work out what I want to do going forward, bearing in mind that I have to keep buying new work clothes and I am still putting £50 a month away for my holiday which I will deffo continue to do so I can enjoy my time off.
Off to look at my budget for May!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Only going to make minimum payments this month so that I can enjoy my May I've decided. Not very MSE I know but April has been horrid and I need to give myself a break X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Well if you feel good and have some fun then maybe when you get back to it you'll be back with a vengeance!
Have fun!!!Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
IT'S PAYDAY :j:j:j. April was a horrid month and I reckon I must have put £120 on the scary VISA but that's it over and I am back on track now. Not even going to add up spends as too scary at the mo but let's just say I've not been very MSE.
This blip, and the fact that I have decided to make only minimum payments this month so I can stay sane mean that it will take me longer to pay off the debt but I think that may be a small price to pay for having a life. The fact that I got offered more money from Vanquis in the first place shows that my credit rating must be improving but the horrid card (with £1050 limit) is now out of my purse and hidden away. Spoke to a friend who said that I should wait til next year and then transfer any remaining debt to a 0% interest deal which I have a better chance of getting then than I do now due to my crap credit rating. Going to have a nice May and enjoy my weeks holiday mid month and then get back to paying my debt down and saving for my hol. Nasty wobbly blip but I'm okay now.
Got an ASDA order coming tomorrow which I am wildly excited about. It has lots of tins in it and some booze for the house. Yippee!!!!
Off to do my Savers shop today and get ready for Les Mis!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Happy PayDay to you

Hi all,
Had a fabby day off. Have cooked loads (a veggie chilli and a chickpea curry from OS board I think) and done my meal plans for 2 weeks using some spreadsheet geekery I also found on there. I'm wildly excited by it.
Had a few of the girls from work round last night which was fun and am working a short day tomorrow because of the BH. Not got a huge amount planned for this week so far, hoping to get a lift to my polling station on Thursday from a mate and working a 7 -6 on Tuesday. Yuck! Got Dr's first thing on Wedndesday (recurring cystitis) and will do something with the rest of my day off, either a play or a gallery.
Next week I finish up on Wednesday for the week and have some stuff planned for that.
Grocery spend is looking rather tight for the month but have a £2.50 Nectar voucher to use too and will only need bread and a few veggies so should be okay as the rest is mostly all portioned off and accounted for already.
Had a date on Friday with a slightly geeky guy I saw a while back. Good fun! Also misbehaved last week but thank god I am actually out of my flat and having a good time after last month!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Had another nice day off. My mate is unemployed so treated her to a £4 lunch then we went for coffee and big chats. Great fun. Working through til next Wed now then off for a week :j Work is great though and had pizza and cocktails with a few colleagues yesterday. Saw FWB on Monday too so good all round.
Mate is taking me to the polls tomorrow after work. Exciting times.
Chickpea Curry from Weezls thread was grand. Had it tonight with rice. X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -

Hey, good day at work. 2 days to go then I am off for a week and got loads planned.
Wed - Buy bits for house/mate over for dinner followed by big gay night out
Thur - Have hangover/other mate over for dinner
Fri - See Geeky Fwb/uni mate staying, dinner and booze
Sat - Uni mate and I having lunch and shopping followed by pictures/takeaway
Sunday - Other mate through for lunch/going to mum and dads
Monday - At Mum and dads, may see twins
Tuesday - At Mum and Dads/come back up and babysit mates wee boy.
Have saved cash this week for next week and got given £25 by mum so shouldn't knock me over budget too much!!!
Will be good to be off. Also want to do a few bits in the house and maybe visit Indian/Chinese supermarket.
Going to be over on Grocery Budget but did a big online shop this month and loads of it will be left over so may be able to keep June's down that way. Got loads of tins and what not delivered that's a !!!!!! to carry. XX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Well haven't left the house yet today. I have cleaned a cupboard, done all my skirtings and hoovered and done washing and dishes but then I had a big siesta this afternoon and am still in PJ's!!! Going to go and get washed and pop some clothes on and go for wine/crisps. Making my mate a chorizo and bacon risotto, quite MSE as all I need to buy is a bit of bacon!
Once I get back then I can start titivating and doing my face and tan in a can. Very excited about our night out. Not been in this club in over a decade and never on gay night!!!
Hope you're all well X'The road to a friends house is never long'0
