My clearing the cards and saving for a holiday diary

Hi all,

Well those are my goals for the year and I'll need a way to keep myself motivated so here I am. Have had loads of help and support on SAID and a few other threads already and do OS meal planning so here I am with my own diary.

About me, I'm 31, single, been living back in the UK for nearly 2 years after lots of adventures overseas. Loved that and love being back too. Not got a lot of debt but could do with tidying it all up. Also was in a LOT of debt before which I now pay off a tiny amount a month and never want to be back there again.

Have a fabby social life, a lovely wee flat (rented) and don't earn much so need to be frugal while having a life. Am inclined to spend loads on clothes (I work in a clothes shop), make up and booze so need to use my spending diary and not go OTT too much.

Doing Lula's clothes challenge/the Grocery Challenge and might join something else too. Looking forward to this and getting it all sorted in 2010!

~Hi Souk, another subscriber here :hello:

A bit of debt with lots of overseas adventures under your belt doesn't sound too bad atall

I don't always post as I'm quite often on here at daft o'clock when I can't really think straight, but I am a proper lurker so I shall be keeping an eye on your progress.

Best of luck with paying off your cards, I'm hoping to do the same during 2010, I should have half a chance if I can stop purchasing tickets for gigs :o

Merry Christmas Souk, I hope you have a fab time with your family :xmassmile

Hello :D I don't normally post on diaries but thought I'd give you some encouragement :D

So here's the plan for this year.
    1. Extra £70ish per month from new job goes to Mum to save for me for a hol.
    2. The 2 months money I don't spend on council tax will pay off Storecard 2. (I pay over 10 months).
    3. Other cards will be paid off through taking some money from my spends budget and putting that away each month. I may also do the make £10 a day thing but aim for £5 a day and I don't really know what to do in terms of surveys. I do my clicks and use cashback sites when I buy online and use ebay already. I also overpay my electricity company and get cheques from them a few times a year which could help with this too.
    4. I'm doing Lula's Clothes Challenge.
    5. I'm going to carry on meal planning, keeping a spending diary and taking my lunch to work.
    6. I got 2! mag subscriptions for Xmas which will cut mag spends.
    7. I also have plenty of toiletries to do me for a bit and when I do need more I will go to Savers once a month with a list and not to Boots acting like I'm taking part in a trolley dash.
    8. I already shop online once a month to save money and use Aldi as a top up shop. (I live above it)

    And this month:
    9. I do the Grocery Challenge and am going for £80 this month as it's a 5 weeker. That includes all shopping for food (including Wispas :j) but not cleaning stuff or toiletries or booze:eek:.
    10. I'm aiming for 10 NSD's this month. So far I've managed 1 (on Xmas Day) so need to work on this.

Just to let you know where I'm at and what I need to do. Right now I need to stop watching 'list shows' about 2009/the noughties and unpack my pressies/iron a frock for work for tomorrow.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
