Happy New Year all,
Hope you had a good one. I did. Was with my lovely gay best friend and his BF in their fab hotel. Watched loads of telly and commented on how fit the actors were (or not!)
Feeling positive about my goals for this year. I'm thinking about doing the Make £10 a day challenge. Anyone else do it? Would be great to pay off Storecard 1 by the end of the month but that will depend on when the clicks sites pay out. Bought a few new new clothes in the sales so have new jeans and a fabby new going out outfit so wont need any more for a bit. How times change. At one time I'd have been buying up half the shop and trotting about in it. Now I prefer to buy things for the flat!!! God I'm getting old. Sat reminising with the boys last night. Ten and a bit years since we left uni and we were looking at folk on tv going 'God he's old looking' and realising they were the same age as us.
Other evidence of my aging is that I now love nothing more than a bit of Elaine Page  on Radio 2 on a Sunday and if I get a Saturday off I no longer think 'Great I can go out and get really trolleyed on Friday night' but now think 'Yippee I can be up and have my bed changed before Saturday Kitchen' :rotfl:God I'm old.'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Now, just looked in my bank account and I have more than I thought in there! This is fab news as I can withdraw another £20 for fun and frolics this week and still have my £50 a week for the rest of the month. Also have my piggy money (about a tenner) which i think I will use to go and see 9 at the pictures and a Boots voucher worth about £17!!! I am wildly excited about this!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Happy New Year souk,
great news on getting your mum to be custodian of holiday cash
I need a gay b/f, more FWBs, to live above Aldi & probably your job too which gives you loads of great clothes
Hey,you have my life
:rotfl:
Glad you're joining in the clothes challenge & you should def go for managerial promotion this year :A0 -
Lula, mum is Chancellor of the Exchequer in our family. She totally loves my holiday idea too so is right behind me and will hound me for the cash every month.
Had such a fabby time with the boys, only see these two once a year so it was great.
Just started in this job as Deputy but boss is fab and will teach me all she knows and I can then go and use that knowledge to get more cash as a Manager. Shop is gorgeous but need to go steady on buying loads of stock.'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Aargh! This is embarasing but I can share it with you lot. I was leaving my new FWB's house this [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon wearing a fur coat, high heels, the sequinned dress and I had wild hair and ONE OF MY STAFF WAS COMING OUT OF HER FLAT BEHIND ME!!! I've only been in the new job 2 weeks and was trying to look like a sensible sort. Oh well!! What a hoot. New boy is 11 years younger than me. What an ego boost! Not very MSE as it was snowing again and I had to get a cab home.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Love it!!!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Can't believe I have to go out again tonight. Looking forward to getting back to normal tbh! Another one of my many gay friends is coming to stay mid week though so that neccesitates more carryings on. Will do it on the cheap though, wine in the house before we go out etc and I'm sure it's a pound a drink in our local gay club on Wednesdays. Great. Need to meal plan, might do it in the morning so that I'm sorted.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hi Souk- HILARIOUS on the almost walk of shame...i hope you just kept sauntering alomg your way and acted 'normal'!
I think i shall live vicariously through you....i seem to have entered the new year in a rather dire- no outings way...booo hiss!
Enjoy your nights out...agree with Lilmissmup- wait until you've not been out or too broke to go out to start moaning:rolleyes:Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
I know! Just really tired today and actually looking forward to getting back to 'normal' btw antics like the above are normal for me!!!
This is the month that I can finally get rid of my carpy internet deal and get a faster one. So excited. Took on a 2 year deal on a whim (and because the ex was moaning, funnily enough about no internet) and have regretted it ever since. It's so slow, I can't go on Youtube, iplayer or anything so need to call 3 tomorrow and ask how I leave them and choose a new provider. Plusnet looks really cheap and I can get £38 from Quidco for going with them to put towards my storecard payment (just want to spend it but wont!) Will sort this tomorrow me thinks. Back to work tomorrow and got another date tomorrow night. Adding a bit of an internet geek type charcter to my collection of FWB's. Maybe he can help me with computer related bits, my printers not great just now! About to watch the IT crowd. It's the hilarious one about Aunty Irma i.e Jen turning in to a right vicious cow during her period. Love it. Got a load of washing in the machine and a sausage casserole in the slow cooker. All sorted.'The road to a friends house is never long'0
