  • Hi I Went To The Store Today. Where I Was Told Off For Checking My Receipt By The Duty Manager The Other Week. Only Got To The Milk Ilse Near The Door When I Heard On The Tannoy( Duty Manager Report To Customer Services). Next There Was This Bloke In A Suit Following Me Around, Noticed Him Before Near The Entence Normally Standing There. I Thought He Must Be Security Gaurd.
Did Not Do Any R~r But Everywhere I Had Been ,as I Past Again The Spots Were I Had Looked At The Self. Staff Where Checking Prices Then A Few Miniutes Later Noticed The Cameras Moving As Well Checking Were I Was Going Next. Went To The Cooked Chicken Section Three Times Just To Take The Mick. The Last Time I Went A Manager Was Checking The Chicken Prices And Temp. With A Member Of Staff Looking Nervous At Me. He Hadd Checked It The Other Two Times I Had Been Near I Had Noticed. Back To The Meat Isle, Looked At Some Steak Nothing Wrong There, Got To The End Of The Ilse Magic Behold Staff Are Taking All The Steak Off The Shelf And Checking The Prices With The Labels. I Went To The Till And Paid For My Food And Was Laugthing Out Loud As I Went Past The C.s Desk On The Way Out. Carn't Wait To Go Back Tomorrow. Just See What They Will Do Next.
I TELL U WHAT I GO STRIGHT TO THE C.S DESK TOMORROW AND ASK FOR A JOB CHECKING PRICES. BET I DO A BETTER JOB THAN THE PRESENT PID DEPT DOES. AND THEN IF I GET IT I CAN THEN TELL U LOT. WHATS WRONG.

When I have some time, I'll take the mick too. It's good to walk down the meat isles and REALLY study one or two packs of stuff you know are right, then stick six of each into your trolley and make your getaway. If you're actually going to buy something, mill around for a while whilst they get some staff to check the stuff you've got, go back down the ilse, grab the stuff that you know is mis-priced and then straight to the checkout. Tell the checkout staff that you don't want the correctly priced stuff, quickly pay for the rest and make a dash for customer services.

IF POSSIBLE, leave someone at the meat cabinets to witness them removing the SELs before CS get there.

Why the hell they can't get this right without our help is beyond me.

Yes, that's right. Refund and Retain is a poicy unique to Tesco. If you are overcharged you get a refund and retain the product.
Sainsburys used to do this too.

They stopped it a few years back, but still overcharge on a regular basis-now they merely refund the difference.

If they can get away with it, why not Tesco?

Because Sainsbury's weren't coerced into introducing theirs as a result of investigations into pricing irregularities.

  • wot do you mean overcharged? i went in the week and was undercharged and another £5 was taken off my shopping in multibuys mistake. the mutibuy discount was more than the goods was at sainsburys. i just checked my receipt before i left the shop out of habit. and had a bit of a shock normally at tescos i would have been queing at the c.s desk on overcharges.
whats gong on with the Pepsi promotion at tescos 2lt bottle 79p. there is not one bottle left in the shops around here. been told by someone stacking the shelves that they have not received any for 4 days. had to go to asda instead and do there price promise. at lest they had some at 1.38/after price promise 76p

Got R&R on Nescafe today £5.19 :j ( thanks to all who posted this) had to specify that the price was displayed on a board comparing Tesco to Asda etc - sa did remove that sign. Btw....although it says Asda price is £4.34, when I looked in Asda this week their price is actually £4.00 - presumably one of their special promos...so are Tesco breaking any laws by comparing their prices to an incorrect price of a rival ?
Also the bacon in my Tesco is correctly labelled at 94p, so no free joy there today:cool:

.............Yes. However if they remove it when informed of the error then a prosecution is unlikely, although a case could be made if similar pos are displayed throughout their stores, usually such claims are supported by the "prices correct at time of printing" type statement but this is seldom challenged and I daresay in a lot of cases if it was it would be established that they weren't

let myself down today and bought Prince CD which looked to be wrong price but didn't self scan and so got charged right sticker price 8.97 even though SEL said 12.97. No overcharge on the Pavolvas, either, so must have bought the wrong flavour.....never mind! There's always next time.

In Axminster today they still had a yellow shelf edge label for Colgate Plax Mouthwash 600ml, £2.99, buy one get one free. The offer ended on June 20th, so obviously they should have removed it. The young guy on customer services didn't feel it was necessary for me to show him where the label was, but I did anyway and he removed it. Just before I went through the checkout I double checked the label and there was another guy eying up the Plax, so if he was going for R & R, he might have been in for a shock.

I also got two 4 packs of Maltesers and the discount didn't some off. I pointed out that there were 6 labels adverting the discount and he removed one or two, but I don't think he could be bothered to remove them all.

They also had an out of date (June 20th) yellow shelf edge label for various ales at 3 for £4.00. These included things like Hobgoblin, Bishop's Finger and Spitfire Ales. However, it also included Black Sheep Ale, which had a separate and up to date label for 3 for £4.00. Therefore I think that some of the ales will get the discount applied, while others, such as the three I mentioned, will not. I didn't test this out as I couldn't carry any more on my bike.

In this store, Aero Caramel was not included in the 2 for £1.80 offer, only Aero and Aero Chunky.

    Edindevon.

Don't point all the faults out unless prompted, if u do u stop other people from getting an R n R which is not right!
