He offered us a sack full when we were visiting. It was summer and I didn't fancy driving back 350 miles with a sack of horse poop in the car, so I declined

Charlotte is hyper this morning. I've got work to do, buying samples, a covert audit and a lunch job. She's bouncing around all over the place and keeps shouting "I'm going to work with Mammy" :rotfl:I hope she enjoys it and doesn't get too bored.

:hello: Morning everyone!

Can anyone tell my why my 9 week old son was wide awake when I tried to get him back to sleep after his 7am feed, but is now sparko in his bouncer downstairs :wall:.

He woke at 1am last night for the first time in a couple of weeks, stayed awake for an hour, had two feeds then slept till 7 (albeit in our bed), so not all bad.

Does anyone remember roughly how long it takes to get an answer back from Tax Credits? I sent off our application about a week ago and was just wondering when I should hear, as the figure they gave me on the phone, and the one I got on the entitled website were quite different!

No plans for today other than to blitz the whole house and get all the washing done. The in-laws are coming tomorrow for the whole bloody day, 10-6. I couldn't stand the thought of being in with them all day, so I've booked a hair apt for 2:45 so I can escape and they can have some quality time with Henry and DH. I cannot wait as my hair is so messy at the moment. I last had it cut 6 weeks before Henry's EDD, so 17 weeks ago :eek: <- that is my hair atm.

Becles- are you a bit worried Charlotte might blow your cover on the covert audit?!

I've just been sitting playing with Elijah a bit before I go to the office (he is teething again and woke up at 5 he has been good recently so it's a bit of a shock to the system...).

He has a little wooden train-set with magnets linking carriages and in each carriage is a different wooden animal.
He sat there with all the component pieces in front of him, and insistently dragged me down til I had my head at the same level as him. Then he picked up each piece and named it - "TAIN-a". "TAIN-a", "LIA"(lion), "RARF" (giraffe).

He repeated this for a while til he came to the elephant, which he held up to me and said "TICKABAKATAINACACKBUH" (insert missing confused smiley here). I have no idea what he was communicating to me but he was very excited about the elephant!

Still can't catch up, about 24 hours behind so I'm going to give up and start again, but one of the things I'd quoted was about a 'burping song'.

What's a Burping Song and how do I do it as I think this could help with evening wind.

Though, Kezia had Jabs tuesday morning so that could explain some of the grumps but the worst night was Monday night (I've lost hte confused smilie too, what hapened there???)

Anyway, thanks in advance on any burpy advice. p.s, she seems to have developed a taste for gripe water - possitively slurped it off the spoon monday night :rotfl:

I got my bumbo for £9.50!!! am soooo pleased about it. Just need to arrange collection now!! Hopefully tomorrow as paypal has cleared straight away!!

off to Dr in a little bit for Kian's next set of jabs. poor thing he's ever so happy this morning little does he know in an hour he'll be having 2 injections...

harley we never had a song, but walking up and down the stairs holding fergie a couple of times always dislodged stubborn burps

When I was pregnant (and ill) I watched Frasier, Homes under the Hammer, another House programe I forget the name of, lunchtime news, Neighbours, Cash in the Attic, Car Booty and Diagnosis Murder. After Diagnosis Murder I would go to bed until OH came home. Just thinking about any of those programmes makes me feel sick now.

I didn't but my brothers who are five tears younger than me did and me and my other brother used to read them avidly and be dissappointed if they had the same reading book two days running.

I do. My first reading book was about an Ambulance. I could even recount some of the stories from the red Whizz Bang series I read in Y1. Unfortunately my super memory skills don't extend to useful things.

Thanks Weezl. That does often seem to do the trick.

I was singing and dancing with her last night to Black Eyed Peas - I've gotta feeling and she absolutely loved it. Was doing it at the top of the stairs in front of the mirror and she was watching me and grinning sooo much. It was fab, so I thought perhaps singing could be the way to go when we have these nasty evenings.

Little angel is still asleep. I'd hoped to go and get her first Pixifoto pics done today but it is pouring with rain and I can't really be arrised to go out so I'm tempted to wait. They will be here again in another month or so, just wish I'd done it sooner.

The bounty lady from the hospital never came back to me either, so not got those pictures from when she was 5 hours old. They were quite good too, though I thought £40 was a bit steep so maybe its a good job.

LOL - a burping song is just MFD-madness!! I have little ditties for everything, most of my day is spent singing about what is happening (or was - I'd feel a little silly singing about burping or being a Super Pooper when I am out on site!!)

Anyway, basically the way it goes was finish feeding and then hold baby upright either on shoulder or under armpits, then bounce gently up and down and sing:

'Where's ya burper, burpy, burpy, burp-errr, Where's ya burper, burpy, burpy....*silence waiting for baby to fill in gap in a comedy timing kinda way*'

It's more like a football chant

These days Benjamin shouts 'uh' when we get to the gap :rotfl:
