I think angel's LO passed her sleeplessness onto me tonight. My baby is sleeping at night for once, not sure how long for though she slept most of the day. I can't sleep though my mind is working overtime it's doing my head in :(

Charlotte will be 3 in May and starts at the nursery attached to the school this September. She'll either get morning or afternoon sessions. Then she starts full time school in September 2011.

They'll be starting school at the same time even though Keira is just over a year older than Charlotte

That made me laugh again :rotfl:

It reminded me of the lady weeing in the men's urinal at the beginning of the Full Monty. Hope Alice doesn't grow up and do that mind :D

That's odd! I wonder why she isn't getting to start? They told me before she started nursery because of her birthday, she doesn't get to start until Sep 2011!

So Charlotte will just have turned 5 at the end of P1? Keira will be starting at 5yr 4months. But then her friends in her class, are going up to P1 this year and one of them has the same birthday as her (1 year older).

Maybe it's different rules in Scotland and England?

I'm not too bothered, at least I won't feel bad if she is ever behind a lil bit, but would of been nice for all day peace and quiet :rotfl:

BM in englnd you start primary the september after you turn 4yo although legally you don't have to send them until the sept after they're 5 (but they would go straight into year one and skip reception)

Ahhhh I got it. What's reception?

We do P1 - P7 up here then off to Secondary school at 11, and that's 1st year - 6th year (if you choose to do highers)

We had Reception (age 4-5) then Year 1 and Year 2 in Primary, then Year 3 to Year 6 (age 10-11) in Juniors, then Year 7 to Year 11 (age 15-16) in Senior school, the Lower and Upper 6th Form :)

We want to take Keira on a holiday (she wants Eurodisney) What kinda price range (if anyone has went) am I looking at for I dunno a long weekend there?

I might use the money from this moneys bonus to buy us Rockness festival tickets....ho hum :D

Yay for bonus! :D OH has been doing a few hours overtime a night this week. There's still another two weeks in this overtime period to go so he's trying to cram in as many hours as possible (and it appears his boss is rounding them up for him too! ;)) so that his Feb pay packet compensates for my lack of

How much do you fancy going for that nursery cook job, Button? :)

Morning all. Elle I thought you were turning in early last night?:rotfl:

And AF and Beanie (and everyone else too!) I hope you all got to sleep in the end. When did you start your new regime AF? We have been doing ours since last tuesday night and she has slept through the last 3 nights. I'm still having to gently hold her down to start with, but when she calms down I'm just sitting next to her and doing the occasional back rubbing. So we till have a little way to go, but it is taking less time to get her to sleep than it was when I was feeding her. You will get there :)

We do P1 - P7 up here then off to Secondary school at 11, and that's 1st year - 6th year (if you choose to do highers)

Here they start in the September after their 4th birthday and it's either:

Reception, Year 1, Year 2 in the Infant school
Year 3-6 in the Junior school

    or

Reception to year 6 if it's a Primary school (which ours is!)

Then at 11 they go to secondary school for Year 7 to Year 11. GSCE's are done in Years 10 and 11.

At 16 they can stay on for sixth form and do A-Levels or equivilant, or go straight into work. This is changing though as they want children to stay in education or training until they are 18. James is in Year 6 now, but he will be the first school year that have to stay until they are 18.

    I've not heard of P1-P7 before :o
Here I go again on my own....

Our cut off date is 28th Feb. Before this they got to school in the August, 1st March or after they have to wait til the year after. If its a leap year baby you get to pick.
I was born in December so I started at 4, my sister was March so she started at 5.5
DD was September so she was almost 5 when she went.
