My mum just applied for a job, had the interview and phoned me and said it would be perfect for me.
It's a cook in a private nursery, and you have to be able to cook for vegetarians/allergys/puree stage etc, 30hrs a week. I like that kinda thing!!
Only issue for me would be Keira, as it's out beside my mums house.
So theoretically, I could, get the bus there in the morning, leave Keira at my mums house, go to work, get my sister or mum to take Keira to HER nursery at lunch, and I'd be finished in time to get the bus to pick her up.
Is that okay? Or is it mean? I'd feel bad not having her around all day? But if I was working I could probably pay for her to be in that nursery but then she really likes the one she is at and has friends there? Fnnnnar.
I would like to work, Im going to phone her up and blag her with my skills on vegetariaism and cooking for muslims, as that was one of the Q's...and I know about that as I cook for OHS mum!
Must go pick up the bop bop.0 -
consumerpulse said on my thanks for telling us about ur mates mail that they's contact u lot 'in the new year' so I have no idea when
BM I'm sure the nursery would offer you a place for Bop if you were to get the job x0 -
Hey ladies just wanted to pop in again to say I will be joining you soon! I'm currently 35+2 with my first and very excited about becoming a mum!!
I have everything ready now just about, waiting on delivery of nursery furniture (coming next Thursday) but have everything I actually need before baby arrives. Planning a home birth too and I'm actually quite looking forward to the birth itself - dunno if I think that's a bit weird though!
Have been lurking on here on and off and nice to hear from ladies who I recognise from pg thread.
Anyway, hello! :hello:0 -

Hi SJ, can't believe you are nearly due! Married life still good?0 -
Afternoon all. We had a good time in town. I walked in for the first time since before Christmas, and it was nice to get some fresh air and exercise. I hadn't realised how unfit I had got. It doesn't take long (and I wasn't exactly up to running a marathon to start with :rotfl:). But never mind. Will walk in again tomorrow if the weather is co-operative.
Izzy fell asleep on the way in, and normally I would just let her sleep until she is ready, but I'm trying to limit the amount of daytime sleep in order to encuorage more in the night. For the last few days I have been keeping her up during the morning so she only has one nap in the afternoon, which seems to be working. So we went off to the library at the normal time, and I woke her up for rhyme time. She was a bit tired, and sat on my lap rather than disapearing across the room like she normally does, but that was quite nice in a way. I could do the actions for her, not for someone else's baby who happens to be staring at me, which is what normally happensShe did wake up a bit by the end, and ended up swapping shakey toys with the other babies and enjoying herself loads.
We went off to the cafe at the clinic for lunch (well, at the church where the clinic is held anyway) and they didn't have any sandwiches! Luckily I had taken some other bits for Izzy, but I was going to buy her a sandwich as well. She had a fruit scone and the carrots and stuff I'd taken with us, and I had some chocolate cake to tide me over till we got home. We also went to boots, ELC (now have poster paints, so we can do some hand prints), bumped into one friend on her lunch break, and popped into the off licence to see another friend who works there too. So all in all it has been a very busy day!
Izzy fell asleep on the way home, so she is still in the buggy in the hallway (with all her layers on, right next to the heater . I keep checking on her and she can have a big drink when she wakes up!), and I've been able to eat lunch, tidy up a tiny bit (you wouldn't know it from the state of the room, but it is tidier than it was earlier!), and catch up on here. Not bad going reallyOn this subject, would anyone mind posting how much they pay for childcare for a full day? I know it will vary in different areas and the type of care and what's included, but everyone I know here uses family so I have very little idea of costs. I need to see if I can afford to go part time.
I don't know much about your tax credit questions, other than I vaguely remember them asking if I work for more than 16 hours, so that must be some kind of cut off? It might be worth playing with entitled to and putting in different scenarios to see what effect it has?
We pay £436 (I think) a month for 2 days childcare a week. Not sure what that works out as per day? It is averaged out over the whole year - I think we pay for 50 weeks then divided down between 12 months. That doesn't cover anything extra except breakfast. We have to take in nappies and stuff, and if we want meals it is an extra £2.50 a meal. That is about average round here for nurseries. (Well, it is one of the cheaper ones, but the more expensive ones include food, nappies etc, so it works out about the same I reacon)feelinggood wrote: »Had a bad night last night. Have left message with the care coordinator. Have also emailed local pals service asking about advocacy. Found a pharmacy who will pick up and deliver prescriptions so I can start medication when I decide what is right.
I'm sorry you had a bad night, but the rest of your post made me proud of you. You know what help you need and are taking steps to get it. You are doing really well you know. (That wasn't meant to sound patronising, just in case it did!) Give me a shout if there's anything I can do - Winchester isn't THAT far away!
ps - by the time I finished typing this Izzy had woken up - I woke her up trying to "clap" a fruit fly that was bugging me. OopsShe is now happily playing with her new bead maze and xylophone though, so it's not all bad.
While I remember, the bead maze was about £8 from Ikea, and she loves it - if anyone is looking for a cheap, but bulky, present then it comes highly recommended - it isn't as ellaborate as some of the more expensive ones, but I think sometimes the simpler the better - it has nice big chunky beads, and is lovely and colourful.

Talking about surveys, I havent had anything of bizziebabies in months
The last review I did I wasnt really keen on the product, maybe thats why they arent sending me anymore.
BM the potty training is going well, too well really!!!. He is doing pees and poos but he is doing them every 5 mins in little drips and drabs, and if he isnt going he is straining and doing his best to produce something. Me thinks I may have gone overboard with the praise.
I dont have a sticker chart till im out later, so he is having to suffice with lots of kisses, cuddles and cheers. Every 5 minutes lol, my hand are almost scrubbed off me.0 -
Hi Mrs M
Glad he is doing well at the training !! even if it does mean you will have old lady hands at the end of it !!The two best things I have done with my life

I nearly wet myself when I read that bit:rotfl:
Josh was once complaining of ear ache. I had a look with a torch and could see what I thought was a lump of wax right down inside his ear. I was putting almond oil in his ear every night to try and shift it, but as it got closer to his ear hole, it didn't look like wax as it black and fluffy looking. Eventually it I managed to pull out one of those sponge pads that cover earphones, and he calmly said "ooh I wondered where that had got to":rotfl:
Where does one buy a mummy-appropriate bikini online for not too much money? I am sick of accidentally looking at thong bikinis that are handwash only and not suitable to actually go in the water.
Have you tried Marks and Spencer or BHS? I normally buy mine from there.Buttonmoons wrote: »So theoretically, I could, get the bus there in the morning, leave Keira at my mums house, go to work, get my sister or mum to take Keira to HER nursery at lunch, and I'd be finished in time to get the bus to pick her up.

It's not mean! If you want to go out to work don't feel bad about leaving her with your Mam. It's only going to be for a few months anyway as she'll start school in September won't she? Here I go again on my own....0 -
