Thanks 3, Beenie, Maz , Sami. Ladybird & MFD for replies on childcare costs/hours. I have been on the Entitled To website, but it got confusing when it asked for pension contributions etc so I figured I needed to spend a good few hours working it out and trying different working hours to see if it made a difference. That’s why I thought I would ask if you all had experience. I doubt I will get much even with part time hours so imagine it would just be loss of earnings v childcare costs??

Csh - Hats – I love hats too (although not sure I want one with kitten ears). Holly bought me a trapper hat for Christmas, clever girl.

Buttons – I had a ball bearing stuck in my ear and when the hospital failed to get it out, my dad sucked it out with a Hoover!!! My aunt had just had her ears pierced and had little gold balls in, and I thought I would do the same and stuck the ball in my ear. Whoops! They must get things likethat a lot then!

Squishy – When was Elena born again as it’s not in your sig? You were due Sept 24th right? Have I got it right that the HV told you to try baby rice on your baby at 11 weeks? I am really surprised at that. Whilst guidelines are preferably leaving it until 6 months, I thought pretty much under no circumstances were you to do it before 17 weeks because digestive system had not developed. Was there a reason for it?

Beccles - No :( She doesn't get to start until next September as her birthday is in April, they only let 4 yo into school this year if there birthday is before the end of Feb. Stupid rule if you ask me, but then she really isn't ready for school IMO. Nursery is more fun :D I'm away to call now and get all the info about the job.

    Hi SJ!!!!!

How fast has the time gone!!!!

Everything OK with you and DH?

back from ASDA - ended up doing a full shop as they had the meat at 3 packs for £9. Considering I can make 8 meals out of 1 pack of mince, means I can make 24 mince based meals for £9 so 37p per meal. Obviously that's just the meat but still good. Plus chicken breasts work out at £1 each!
C&G baby cereals are normally 3 for £5 but are currently on offer at £1 as are the large packs of rusks but not the gluten free ones.

so much for wii fit - Jack slept in ASDA & shows no signs of napping again. I can't even put the shopping away or have my lunch!

the parcel was a bottle from bizziebabies to test - one of those ones with a pump thingy inside to stop wind but it's only a 6oz bottle. and I've been asked for my review of the carrier - or should I say they want me to review the website!

Are you near to a Farmfoods Glam? They have 1kg of chicken breasts (6 ina bag) for £4.50 each or 3 for a tenner, so 18 breasts for £10.:money:
They are nice too, not full of water like some and because they are indivually frozen, you can just take one or two out to defrost when you need them rather than splitting a fresh pack when you buy and freezing in 1's or 2's IYKWIM?

Hi Fitz, I was thinking about you today! I was at baby clinic and I saw a pile of the weight chart pages for the red books and I thought ooo, I'll steal one for Holly. I had a rifle through but they were all boy charts. Then I had a Doh moment when I realised I have all the girl charts in my red book and I don't need them! Obviously!
So anyway, I think you said you had a copy of the chart but if you want some originals just PM me your address

Josh was once complaining of ear ache. I had a look with a torch and could see what I thought was a lump of wax right down inside his ear. I was putting almond oil in his ear every night to try and shift it, but as it got closer to his ear hole, it didn't look like wax as it black and fluffy looking. Eventually it I managed to pull out one of those sponge pads that cover earphones, and he calmly said "ooh I wondered where that had got to":rotfl:

Well I guess we know where Charlotte gets it from then!

Hi Glam :hello: I know, so, so fast! I've only got a week and a half left if I go the same time you did

I'm planning a big asda shop today or tomorrow too, need to stock up my freezer with meals in preparation for the new arrival!

Things are great with DH and me thanks. Been really enjoying my maternity leave too.

That's what set me off! The ASDA shop and then the batch cooking - although the batch cooking wasn;t supposed to start til the Thursday/Friday but for some reason I was doing it at 9pm on the Wednesday night!!

Can't wait to see you 'over here'!

i take it you never got the carrier then? i did wonder as you hadnt mentioned it. what use is a 6oz bottle when baby is taking more than that?

saw the rusks for £1 was tempted to buy but already have a box. good value for the baby cereals though and i am gonna get some so K can have a variety to try.

i've had nothing from bizziebaby at all. £5 prob down the drain. would i recommend joining?? yes if you have kids of all ages so you would qualify for more tests.

ooh, nurseries near us are all £35 for full day £125 for week.Think its £20 for 1/2 day but didnt really check. most you have to provide formula/milk but nappies etc are all included. havent looked at CM's mainly cos there are none within walking distance to us or serve (will collect/drop off) from the school i currently am thinking of for K. but most seem to be around £25/35 a day.

Um, I did get the carrier :o So I've had 2 things and would say it is worth it. They sent me the carrier but the review is based on the Samsonite website which I could have done without the carrier.

I've always been a bit of a snob when it comes to frozen meat especially chicken but that sounds like a very good deal. We do have a Farmfoods and I always get sent a leaflet and vouchers through so maybe next month I'll look at getting them instead.

The boy sleeps - seems putting him on his front during the day does the trick. Right, must put shopping away and maybe get the Wii Fit on the go!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
