  • Oh, I forgot to say, Izzy now weighs 20lb 11oz (must update my siggie) and HV were about as helpful as usual with regards food and sleep questions. She was telling me to do controlled crying - I did the smiling and nodding politely thing, and will continue to do the gradual withdrawal route we are following currently :) I don't know why I bothered asking really.

    a question everyone if i may ...

LO is looked after my MIL when i am at work. obviously as part of trying to sort her sleep i am needing to teach her not to go to sleep on the bottle or to sleep in someone's arms.

i am thinking of getting a samsonite pop up travel cot (the older age group) for her to use.

they seem to get good reviews. has anyone used one?

    Hi SJ!!!!!

How fast has the time gone!!!!

Everything OK with you and DH?

back from ASDA - ended up doing a full shop as they had the meat at 3 packs for £9. Considering I can make 8 meals out of 1 pack of mince, means I can make 24 mince based meals for £9 so 37p per meal. Obviously that's just the meat but still good. Plus chicken breasts work out at £1 each!
C&G baby cereals are normally 3 for £5 but are currently on offer at £1 as are the large packs of rusks but not the gluten free ones.

so much for wii fit - Jack slept in ASDA & shows no signs of napping again. I can't even put the shopping away or have my lunch!

the parcel was a bottle from bizziebabies to test - one of those ones with a pump thingy inside to stop wind but it's only a 6oz bottle. and I've been asked for my review of the carrier - or should I say they want me to review the website!

Where does the time go?

    hi ladybird,

my LO is 10months next week and weighs a pound more than izzy (well she did just before new year) :D

i am working along the mindset of gradual withdrawal (with my own adjustments)

I havent had anything in a while either Mrs M, but I emailed them a while ago and they just didnt have anything appropriate age wise for Dylan to test at the minute but said that I was still in their system :)

I emailed also asking if they had anything for cliodhna as everything has been for darach, but she just said she would be in touch that was 6 weeks ago
  • And and and - there is nothing cuter than a baby who can't talk yet having a pretend conversation on a mobile phone :rotfl:. If you aren't listening it kind of sounds like she is having the kind of conversation I have with DH all the time. "yes.....un-huh ...... yes...... yes.... mmmm......ok bye!"

  • Fitzio -I didn't spot your post about Childcare costs but I pay £3 per hour for Benjamin's Childminder. That includes all meals and most general excursions etc.
Extras - I have to provide nappies and wipe and milk and I will be paying £3 a week for him to go to playgroup with CM which he starts tomorrow :T :T

The costs do vary wildly though, even within the same area - I saw one CM who wanted £4.50 an hour and then wanted me to provide food on top - and she was no where near as good as my CM!!!

Which reminds me - Benjamin's CM is a lovely dutch lady, and sometimes she can have an unusual turn of phrase - when hubby picked Benjamin up on Tuesday afternoon the CM said 'Benjamin gave me all of his milk back this afternoon' which puzzled hubby a bit so he said 'did he?' and CM said 'yes - very violently, all over me, I STINK!!!' She meant he had been sick!!!
