MFD, that is so sad . I know it wouldn't be a holiday for me but I also know people who have been and can just accept 'thats just the way it is'.

That is the way it is SB. And tourism really does help. And even the tourists who 'haggle' to within an inch of their lives for an extra 10p off (10p which means nothing to you or me, or them, but can mean a LOT to the locals) make a difference.

We 'made friends' with the lady who had a little market stall by our hotel, she slept there during the tourist season but actually lived about 14 hours walk away (how upsetting, to time your journey by walking time). She asked if we would leave some of our toiletries for her because she could get money for them...I went around all the brits that were leaving when we did and got their spare shampoo etc and left her a massive bag full. Every little bit counts.


For what it is worth, she said she was happy and meeting nice people like us made her life much happier

maybe it has so much crap stuck under it, I really should give it a clean out!!! Or maybe I should clean it out and stop eating crap, well at least while I'm on the lappy lol
