Although Jack's on purees now can I start introducing BLW type food when we do get to 6 months. Jack just loves putting everything in his mouth, he's actually started holding onto his bottle properly and tries to tip it towards his mouth but at the mo it ends up either up his nose or dribbling down his neck :rotfl:
I would have thought so - my HV said that you should introduce finger foods around 7 months anyway.

  • Glam, if you're anything like me then 'normal' weaning might include BLW in some form such as fruit and vegetable batons, etc anyway.

GRRRR. A friend of mine just got home from the hospital. She's just informed Husband that she was sicker than he was (y'know, that time when he almost died) and that she was sicker than my grandmother, who actually did die.

If she comes near me with her hypochondriac poor-me act I'm going to rip her lips off.
    :eek:Some people....
  • Have tried to fix photos, but FB is giving me the same link for all the pictures . DH is in a sulk and has gone to bed, so best go join him. Will try again tomorrow! night all.

I've been reading the conversations about BLW with interest, after i first thought it was a load of new fangled weirdness :p I think it was sold to me when laziness was mentioned :rotfl: It would make life easier to let baby feed herself rather than, as Sami said shovelling in, scraping off chin, re-shovel etc etc. But i plan to wean when she shows signs of a growing appetite, which with DS was just under 4 months, quite frankly i'm not really interested in the guidelines and will go on my own instinct.

So i guess its best to start with the purees and go onto normal food when she starts trying to shovel her mush into her mouth on her own? lol.

She's been asleep all day because i've been out and about in the car, she had her hearing test which was the probe as was said - and she had clear results so all good. But she's going to be up all night now  I think i'd better prepare myself for an all-nighter, probably no point even trying to sleep

It's not on my blog but I can tell you it. I'm a bit worn out from all the food diary typing though so will be another day.
That would be great, no rush, I wont have chance to try them until next weekend anyway :)

We had the opposite problem once Alice got the hang of eating and was eating larger quantities - she would sometimes shovel the food into her mouth as fast as she was able to without any regard to how quickly she could swallow it or the fact that her mouth was too full to chew.
Chris started doing this recently, drives me mad when it all comes back out - bleugh!

That reminds me - I must check and see if Alice has any more es - I discovered one in December when I was brushing her teeth (OH usually does them) and have no idea how long it had been there.
    ...
I'm glad I'm not the only one that misses teeth arriving

Sami, we all care but will be funny to see how you get on with school run hours!:rotfl:Fingers crossed all ok.XXX

    Scruff, you ok hun??? X:A
it's at the little hosp that's in a really stupid place, in the middle of a housing estate just outside of the town centre with about 15 schools on the way too
Sorry Sami what is wrong with Eds hips
his right hip clicks so he may have a poorly formed joint (worst case that can require surgery and or legs in plaster) or loose ligaments/tendons (may require surgery when in late teens/early 20's) or be double jointed (no action needed)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
