How skinny is Camilla Dallerup? I think her legs would snap like a twig if you kicked her.

Don't know who she is, but don't mind kicking her for you.

You asked about my work situation well here goes: My FT contract is 48hrs, there is NO WAY I'm leaving my baby boy to do back to that! I'm going to request PT contract which is 30hrs but I think they'll say no. I'm then going to ask for PT outwith my own store, if they say no to that, I'll take a demotion to Deputy manager which is just hrly paid. If they get arsey with that they can run up ma ribs and pay me off.

    MY BABY BOY CAN LAUGH!!!!

Hes been doing wee giggles for a few weeks, but last night done a big from the bottom of his feet belly laugh! It was brilliant and only for me! Wouldn't do it again for OH:cool:

Snow here so OH thinks he'll be home at 3pm, so the Nanny will be here for an hour then I'll send her home! I hope she won't mind!

Could you maybe both nip out to the local shops, I know you wouldn't want to go out for long, but really she needs to stay longer than an hour to get to know Toby. Otherwise it will take a lot longer for them to be relaxed with each other.

Feelie - don't send her home! Even if OH is home it doesn't matter. It will give Toby more of a chance to get to know her if she stays a bit longer.

Thanks for all the replies about shops for tights - they have been duly noted.

Are we the only area who don't have and 8 month check? Ours is at 12 months, when I imagine theres more chance of them being able to clap, point and say Mama, dada etc?
Ours was called "8-12 month check" and was at nine months. We were just asked if she babbled, had pincer grip, ate well and slept well. She said was meant to check sitting but Alice was walking round on the chairs in the waiting room so she didn't need to. Alice was weighed and measured too but only because we'd never been to have her weighed at the baby clinic.

Actually, that reminds me: I had a phonecall yesterday from a HV who wanted to do a home visit because we've moved house. She was very persistant and said she needed to come so I could sign an immunisation consent form because otherwise we wouldn't be sent appointments as we are in a different area. I told her that I had no problems and never had and didn't see any need to see her. Eventually she agreed not to come when I said she could post me the form and I'd send it back. She asked me if I'd had problems with my previous HV as apparently she doesn't think that having no need to see a HV is a valid/genuine reason not to want to see one. Am I the only person who has never had any need to see the HV? I wouldn't have expected it to be that unusual.

I don't want to kick her (picture here). I am not violent. But if you did kick her, she would snap.

When are you planning on asking about your job? I need to work out how many hours I want to do first and look at possibly childcare arrangements before I approach them. It is likely we would use a childminder. MIL has offered to look after H one day per week, but she stays over an hour away and would have to take 2 trains to get here so it would mean she would be staying overnight every week (and I can't see us sending her home at 6pm in the dark without dinner, so might end up being 2 nights), and I don't want that on a regular basis.

Well done to Kieren for the laughs! It's great. We were saying on Sunday how we were delighted at getting some small giggles out of H but disappointed that they haven't progressed much. She must have been taking note as she was in hysterics on Monday and I recorded it lol. I think she is like me. Something has to really appeal to me to get proper big laughs! Our standards are too high. ha ha.

    Morning all :)
.. Morning Elle! did you manage to get up early? Hope today goes ok.

Yup, I'm up :D Have phoned to check and it does start at half one. Also managed to phone the hospital and confirm Rhys' app - got the letter out last night and realised I should have confirmed it six months ago! :o That's the second time I've done that.. really ought to read beyond the date and time!

Hope your interview is still on and goes well, ladybird! :)

Hope everyone else is well :) xx
  • When are you thinking of going back to work, Fitz and csh?

csh- I did see your thoughts on my p-t hours last night, but didn't get round to replying. Thanks for your thoughts. I must admit that I don't know any p-t managers at the moment, but my boss has agreed in principle to me going back p-t, we just need to iron out the finer detail. To be honest I am very lucky and have a good team, who are running my store in my abscence. Three days a week would allow me to do the real managerial stuff, but give me less time on the floor. Not ideal, but doable as far as I am concerned, but I suspect my boss will want me four days a week while I want three so we'll see how it pans out.

Childcare-wise, the plan is that OH will have LO two days a week which will be changable and he will go to nursery or a CM one fixed day a week. However MIL is set to be made redundant and would love to have him one day a week, so who knows?

Hmmmm, not sure when to put the letter in. I really need to read up cos I'm sure theres a time frame and I'm due back first week in May unless I take some holidays.
Whats wrong with the MIL moving in, hee hee hee??
I'm in 2 minds whether or not to put K into nursery for 1 day a week? Theres one next door to work that has a good rep.
I'm planning to just work my shifts round OH's so he can do the childcare but I'm not sure he'd cope that well.
I really don't want PIL or my mum to have him simply for the reason that my mum would keep a tally of who had whom when and would cause a fuss if they got him more because shes really childish:rolleyes:
I just can't be bothered with that on top of everything else so the PIL will just have to miss out :o
Actually I don't want anyone to have him ever, hes all mine wah wah :D
