one of the BF ladies had a 14 week old who had only gained 1.5lbs since birth & was only 8lb odd. born at term no problems - she said baby can feed for 12hrs at a time which I thought was strange
my friend's LO one can roll over and is a week younger than Jack - I know they all do things at different stages but was still abit sad! He doesnt even try to roll - but then I think at least he's not going to roll off anywhere and he can sit up for a bit! *just being silly*
Feeding for 12 hours  maybe 12 hours a day when they are tiny and they are glued to you but 12 hours straight at 14 weeks - her nipples must be all pruney like when you have been in the bath for too long :rotfl:
LOL at the being silly - my great-neice got her first tooth yesterday and Benjamin only has 2 and is 4 months older and I felt this massive urge to try and get his teeth out somehow
God knows what I thought I was going to do!! She is probably going to overtake him in terms of weight too, she is less than 2lbs behind now, although I am not so worried about him keeping up with that one
please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

need some help please

making fruit & veg purees
does fruit have to be soft to begin with?
I have apples, a pear, carrots & parsnip but the pear & parsnip feel hard (I don't like pear so not sure if it should be hard or soft
)
How long should I steam them for?
would it be OK to whizz it in a smoothie maker?
Should I add baby milk/water to it before I freeze it or after or both?
(thinking about what Tia said about things getting runnier when you freeze
I usually add water after I defrost it. From the kettle. I make mine with an electric whisk thingy but add a baby sauce to my veg puree else they're a bit boring. Yesterday I used half carrot, few chunks of swede and a potatoe then added a cheese sauce. The noise she made eating was approval and I froze enough for a week.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Aww, Glam he will do things when he decides

There is a baby at my group one day younger than Jamie and almost the same birth weight! They always get compared and although other baby can walk, Jamie has hair and teeth!

I'm going away in June and I'vr only just realised I'll need 'stuff'! Like tins of milk, and nappies, and buggies :eek: :rotfl:
How will I make bottles up with foriegn water and other such stupid questions that never crossed my mind when I booked! So glad I'll not be steralising by then :rotfl:
Me neither, :rotfl:just booked it and thought it would be great. I just looked and our hotel remove all crockery etc from the half-board rooms and the fridge is 20 euros for the week. No kettle either so will borrow a travel one. Most gave it 10/10 though so very clean with great staff. Phew!

Could do with finding out if the hotel restaurant has highchairs? Will make sure she's eating everything by then so no jars, will try to get her on cows milk for the start of June.
Thanks though as none of this had crossed my mind yet!
I'm gonna get one of these so its less of an issue

I know, I know. Interestingly the HV asked me to show another mum Jack's teeth under his gum so mum knew what to look for - she was surprised that she could clearly see his top & bottom 2 AND (Weezl) one near the back! Bet Jack will be one of those 4%'ers that gets a back one thru first!
tara - do you steam the fruit/veg? I'm not sure how long to do it or how big to make the fruit to start off with!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

ooooh my DH will want him for a case study! Which will be so very easy to arrange when you move to Cardiff:j:j:j (mustn't get hopes up! :rotfl:)
puree-wise we just add a little bit of water and boil down til it's a mush with lumps (fergie has always liked a few lumps) I think Benjamin did too, but Jayden and seth from memory prefer smooth... I think Kai changes his mind
So you'll know best how Jack will like it
