I want to try joints and whole chicken as well as stews and bolangase, chilli etc
is the 6L ideal for using the BIG packs of mince (800g i think) my casserole dish for the oven can only handle the 400g packs
hmm MR is strong contender! Do you know if its only in store?
whats wrong with that?! I LOVE bon jovi!!
A bit late I know but I can't get 800g of mince in my 3.5L one so a 6L would be needed.OMG, I'm 7st 12lb and almost 26!
(yeah yeah, and stupidly underweight, I know)
I was about to say I'm 8st and almost 26 (then I remembered I AM 26) but you are 6inches taller than me.
angelfairy wrote: »that is exactly how she was. what got me thinking that reflux might have been an issue was when i was googling wedge type products to put in her crib to make her think she was in my arms (to try and solve sleep issues even then).
i found a website that sold different things (wedges included) to help with baby reflux.
i think the main things for me was being sick after feeds (even an hour or so after); getting the hiccups often; and arching of her back.
even if you LO doesn't have any of the above, it is worth speaking to the doc. if you think it is reflux and you aren't lucky to have a nice doc like mekeep pushing it. a HV was surprised that i managed to get gaviscon for LO as she hadn't dropped any weight. some docs apparently wont act if there is no drop in weight, although that is not necessarily a sign (and going on the suggestion that MFD put to Elle about Rhys' weight gain, my LO might be like me and just needs to look and things she shouldnt have and she'll gain weight
)

AF - I'm pretty sure Jack has reflux going by the constant evening screaming and possetting. I got some Gaviscon really easily from my GP at 5 weeks (he suggested it for wind) so I'm using that and hope it kicks in soon.
Anyway, what I wanted to ask was do you raise LO's mattress at night? If so how and by how much? Just wondering if that should be something I do if the Gaviscon doesn't help.
Took Jack to baby clinic - very icy and bitterly cold so dug the car out to go to Tiny Stars later. Got some advice on the crying - feeding him sitting up, winding him BEFORE he starts the bottle, making sure the bottle is at the temperature he likes throughout (So will have to reheat part way through!) and keep him sitting up for 20minutes afterwards.
He now weighs 14lbs 5oz - that was minus the HUGE pooey nappy that he did while we were waiting to go in! There were lots of older children there today around 18months who had to strip off to be weighed - lots of squidgy botties!
Jack woke up at 5.15am this morning and only went back to sleep for 20minutes afterwards! First time ever he has stayed awake all morning - he then had 10mins in sling and had been flat out since we got home at 10.20am. Have stripped BIL's bed and remade it, put washing on and dug my car out the drive.
Em & Sami - thanks for that, I might go along in a few months and see what's what.
Sami - are you going sling meet on 20th?A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Just trying to decide whether to go with fruity porridge again or try the banana and peach cereal today.......A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Glam - I am not convinced that the nighttime milk helps with sleeping, Benjamin just likes it!!feelinggood wrote: »Sami - brocolli was one of Tobys first foods, he mushed it into the table and then licked it off his hands.
Benjamin used to mush it up, scoop it all around to the side of his highchair tray and then bend down and eat it off the tray :rotfl:pure laziness!!
He does have a things about using his head though - if we say 'bumpy head' to him he headbuts (soflty) the sofa or the wall or the floorHe has his own balloon at the CM's (he LOVES balloons) and he 'heads' it along the floor all the time! Or he holds it still with his head so he can grab hold of the sticky out bit!
He is as mad as his mother :rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Toby loves to bump heads. My Dad taught him to do it, and now if you tip your head forward at him, he headbutts you! Gently and in an affectionate way, like cats do.
Isn't it funny that our babies do all these things when they weren't even born a year ago?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
MM mmmmm wotsits, poor you on having to wash his clothes after though.
March babies eating Ello has 4 bottles of 6oz each a day, she has porridge (normal porridge oats shjuzzed up) made with pear puree and toast for breakfast, lunch is cheese on toast or eggy bread or a sandwich or a jar or 3 cubes of HM babymush, a yoghurt half a banana or a biscuit. Teatime, she either has what we/millie are having and picks up and eats what she wants or if she didn't eat well at lunch i might try and force the 3 cubes of mush or jar method, yoghurt or biscuit.
Parenting books I just found some of it really useful during the toddler stage particularly, the stuff about not using an open ended question and picking your battles and the stuff about how to say no without using the word no really helpful and the feeling that by reading a book and having a strategy I was doing something constructive. Toddlers are hard work!

Do you have a bumbo?
We use hipp organic nighttime milk, he just prefers it. It takes him ages to finish the bottle and you can hear him going mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm as he drinks it :rotfl:
That is the reason that I put him on the nighttime stuff, we had a few trial sachets and he just yummed his way through them! We tried C&G but it didn't have the same yummy effect!!
Bumbo is at mum's should bring it here although I fear back arching coz thats all he does in the inflatabe ring seat thing he got for Christmas  he used to be such a lazy boy now he wants to move constantly - how very dare he
on the milk thing - I was asking because I have £1 off c&g night time milk voucher so Does anyone want it?...
