sorry MM
you're gorgeous you know xx
Tara - I forgot to reply before, OH gets paid for the extra work
he was p'd off because he'd been out in the truck and got back to the workshop to find his van in the carpark(usually kept inside) un locked and the keys nowhere to be found with it's tyre flat because no one bothered to get it's slow puncture fixed
Elle - I made another weights table page for Chris's book, if OH ever finds the pc power cable I'll email it to you
off to bed now  night all0 -
MM, sorry, meant to asnwer you earlier but I don't have anything useful to say - we've not seen OT, just physios who seem to deal with everything, hands included
When physios do hands, they get Rhys to grasp a rattle or lie him on his front and see if he'll reach out for things or knock blocks over
The nurses we saw today mentioned a session with a playworker actually.. because I was telling her about having seen Claire and Claire knowing what she's talking about with child development!
Sami, thankyou, that'd be fab
Night night xx 0 -
just an FYI for anyone on the height/weight thing http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/bigimages/hwchart18jun09.jpg I'm perfectly on the 'OK' line *smug*
Uhm, ok, at 5'5, I should be 8.5 stone to be OK. I have never been 8.5 stone in my life, at my lightest I was 10stone and at that point I wasn't eating! As in, not eating at all. Unless 10 chips and 20 fags a day count? Oh, I ate on a Sunday, macaroni and chips followed by a caramel wafer.0 -
Bahahahahaha, I'm 5ft 4 Tia, so a smidge below you (but I seriously look smaller)
I couldn't imagine me being 8 clem, I'd dissapear, think last time I weighed 8 stone, I was 8!!
Meh who cares, poppadom anyone?0 -
Thanks tia, thats really helpful

We are mainly there to get him a chair made, to help his back muscles, but I have been told they will do a full review when we are there.
He really has started to like you tickling the palms of his hands and if you stop he grabs your finger till you start again
Its really nice !
Sami, I know I am gorgeous, its just temporarily hidden as I cant detract from my beautiful children
Elle, is a playworker just someone to show you how to play with him to help him? Or is that a really stupid question

Yeah I think so.. to the first question, not the second!
Like the physio tells me how to teach him to sit up - which is actually not the way I'd thought! - the play worker just shows you play for development rather than just play for playing sake  They usually work on the wards but do do home visits or come in on blood tests to distract babies (completely pointless with Rhys, and I usually just tell them to get out his face - in my politest possible voice, of course!

Ah a funky chair MM
Chris had a triangular one for a while.
Ambertironic is calling me to bed, night all!0 -
my physio gets Dylan to bash drums and read books and bang his hands off a table while sitting on his knees and look at himself in the mirror which he loves doing !!
Oh I meant to say, he has started looking at faces other than Jasmine !! Proper stares at us all now
Its heart melting when he does it and then smiles at you
Still waiting on eye referral though, as he still doesnt seem to be focusing properly, but at least we know he can see, just not sure now how wellThe two best things I have done with my life
