Hi PP, congratulations on little Kadens birth. I asked at the hospital because Isla hardly had any wet nappies after 24 hours (we were kept in) and they said because colostrums so perfect for babies theirs no real waste from it and as others say, just keep offering boob, tickling his feet, blow on cheek etc to wake him a bit.

Thanks SM hope your well hun :)

Thanks Fitzio when he first came out he was bright red in the face the rest of his body was fine though, they constantly checked his temperature and got the paed to check him over a couple of times and they all said that they werent worried MW came out this morning and noted in the red book that he was still red in the face but when i said he was like that in the hospital she said that it was probably nothing to worry about, nothing has been said about jaundice though  A friend popped round this morning and commented that he looked like he had been on holiday and had a tan :rotfl:

They won't look for jaundice until a few days old anyway (because there would be nothing to test for till then), not something to worry about now anyway. Nappies, try not to worry about. He could have had a huge wee before he was born and now just hasn't had enough liquid yet to fill his bladder again. Either way, you only worry about it day 3. But again, call someone if you are worried. Or your MW will be out tomorrow anyway won't he/she?

How was the birth btw? I saw you were getting a bit impatient on teh preg thread :D

MW isnt coming back out again now until weds
the birth wasnt good they couldnt break my waters i got to the hospital at about 4.15am and was only 2cm dilated it took them until 6.52am until they actually managed to break my waters, i apparently passed out while they were trying to break them  All i actually remember was a doctor trying to break my waters at 4am and then having him in 1 push at 7.24am :rotfl:
Second stage of labour was 4 minutes 3rd stage was 3 mins :rotfl::rotfl:

They wouldnt tell me what happened in the bits that i cant remember all i do know is when i had him there were 5 MW's and a doctor in the room, i had a drip in my hand and was attached to loads of machines when i asked the MW after if i could have a look at my notes coz i wanted to know what happened i was told i wasnt allowed to see them but could apply for a copy of them if i really wanted to know. She did say that at one point his heart beat dropped really low which is why i ended up on the drip. :o

A comment about a tan was the first sign that H had jaundice! We still never even clicked, but i was in hospital and saw loads of nurses and it was only 1 person who said "lemon realy is not her colour while she has jaundice" that made us realise! She was quite orange by that point but no nurses had picked it up!

I am sure everything will be ok. Let us know how you get on. x

Hope the snows not driving everyone too daft, I agree about going stir crazy cooped up in the house. OH had to help me walk to asda just to get out for a bit as Isla was in the sling, there's no chance of pushing the pram here.
