I think they were updating it as I was trying so maybe just a bug in the system that's fixed now, or actually probably just my laptop! I remember the old one was a trial to fill in! :(

I'm off to bed too soon. Night night xx

The only insurance I have is house insurance.....:p

I know if OH dies at work or something, we get 5 times his salary. Some bobbins like that.

I think I'm going to decorate my house, from next week, it's a hole and I hate it, so maybe sprucing it up will help. Going to repaint the bog first as I did last year in yellow but it looks crap, so pink :D Need to get grout and apply the 3 tiles that fell off, and get a medical cabinet/mirror for above the sink.

    I also need.

Paint, to repaint all the doors and skirting boards.
A vanity table for my bedroom
A long mirror for my bedroom.
A big mirror for the living room.
    Photo frames.
New cream paint to retouch up the living room walls, they look ming.
A new peach colour paint for the hall as it's a bit too dark peachy for my liking.
    New TV stand
    New curtains for living room
    Blinds for kitchen
Plastic drawers to keep linen in, for the cupboard as it's hazerdous.
    New sofa.

So I need all that! Obv not all at once

Bedrooms need things too but not as urgent as above.

Maybe OH's mum will get us a sofa.....though I am reluctant to even bother getting one, because the cat will scratch her flippin claws on it, so maybe just look out for a 2nd hand one on Freecycle, ditto with the mirror and vanity table, though will buy if nothing crops up.

Sounds like a plan, Button! I have a similar list of things I need to finish of the house.. Must browse the sales for things we actually need

Just sorted the CTF - I'm on a bit of a Quidco mission! ;)ANGELFAIRY (and anyone else who hasn't sorted theirs yet), the vouchers have an expiry date on them.. Just reminding you in case you've had it a while. I think it's a year from when they received the info - can't remember, is it done alongside Child Benefit? Our letter was dated 15th August 2009 and the expiry date on the voucher is 7th August 2010, so if you applied for CB straight away don't leave it too much longer before you sort using the voucher :) HTH xx

Right, really going to bed now.. Night! xx

Two and a coo? Enlighten me about this lovely scots phrase?

Guess you'll have to be like Weezl and sit on a rubber ring!!!

I do hope you all know I was joking and don't picture me permanently perched on a donut :rotfl::o

Button, I'm probably misunderstanding how you phrased your last post, but your OH would get a lump sum payment if he died whilst still working in his job, no matter where he actually died IYSWIM? From your wording it sounded a bit like you meant he'd only get it if he was actually at work at the time. Sorry probably just the way I read your post, but didn't want you to not feel reassured that there's provision there for you and Keira if the worst should happen.

    I'll shut up now!

mm I reduced our Life ins and cancelled our Income protection a few months back when I realised we were a bit over provisioned. The money we've saved is very useful in the here and now ;)

Today I need to be a high energy weezl. I hope Kester doesn't go on a growth spurt and spoil it!

My brother is coming and he and DH are going to Dryline 2 walls in our back room, as a quick fix to a mould problem. (don't worry, we've had it checked and it's not structural badness!) this is part of my nesting strategy, because I know we'll need it as a guest room when Kester comes.

    So I need to:

    • Make list for Wickes inc primer TGV etc
    • make list for asda and costco and ikea
    • Go to all of the above
    • make 4 loaves of bread
    • make enormous liver and bacon casserole in the SC
    • make bed for brother to sleep in
    • do dream feed whilst brother and DH go to see avatar in 3D
    • send off DHs signature for new bank account

    wish me luck!

  • Morning all - not sure if I will catch up from last night. Not such a good one last night - Izzy woke up just before I was going to have an early night, so I didn't go to sleep as early as planned, then DH woke me up when he got home, and then snored so loud I had to move to the sofa, then Izzy woke at 4am, 5am and 6:45 (at which point I gave up!) Never mind. When he finally drags his hungover backside out of bbed he can play with Izzy while I nap ;) (Or while I have a nice bath at least!)

It's freezing in here today - I've had to put the oven on to keep us warm. I hope everyone else is ok, and those who had a night out last night enjoyed themselves :)
