*sneaky sneaking in*
Hello everyone - I'm in my office and feeling very lost. Nobody seems to be here, I've done everything I need to be actually in the office for and am considering working from home this afternoon. I think that's a good idea on my part........ Yes, that is what I'm going to do.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Morning all
I watched the big brother thing - no idea who they are! Except stephanie and alex!
Does anyone else have a clingy baby? Caitlyn will onlygo to someone for 5 mis max, then she starts crying until I have her back. Don't mind too much but getting worried about when childminder time comes. I currently have her fast asleep on me in the baby carrier.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

pinkpig - I was very aware that Benjamin would be going to a CM from when he was a tiny baby and I was terrified that he would be clingy and make it unbearable for me to leave him (it is traumatic enough!).
So from when he was teeny tiny I tried to give him lots of independence. Initially just sitting him in his bouncy chair facing away from me (5 mins to start with, moving up to 20 mins plus) and making sure that he spent lots of time with other people and refusing to take him back if he started crying (you need to make sure you have someone made of stern stuff to do this with).
Try leaving her with one of your tops so she can smell you, or does she have a fave toy?
It must be hard hun, but the sooner you crack it the easier it will be in the long run.

SS, I approve of your working decisions
Bath successful, baby out for the count.
Oh thanks all for listening to me moan yesterday re: the car. It was partially the battery but also the ignition column (which we always knew was mega-loose) had come so loose it wasn't connecting with motor or something. Is all fixed now, thank God.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Thanks MFD - DH had her the other evening for about 15 mins and she cried/screamed the whole time. I've been to the CMs a couple of times with her as she's my friend now too. She'll have a 4 week settling in period before the time actually comes, but CM is quite happy for me to go up whenever I want for a coffee, and it also gets Caitlyn used to her and her house.
It's a bit hit and miss how long she'll go for without crying, but I hadn't thought of her having something that smells of me - will give that a go.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

Weezl, your fast than the phantom impregnator of virgins! :rotfl::T
Pinkpig, I have a clingy 4year old. I have toughened up and everyone knows to just hold onto him as mummy (or daddy) leaves and we have learned to just keep walking. They eventually settle down and most CM will tell you to just walk calmly to the door after a firm 'love you, see you (when), good bye'. Makes their job easier if mum just goes rather than tries to comfort the baby which can just make it worse. They usually know good distractions after mum is away.0
