Just to stick my nose into the sleeping discussion ....

Andrew is (unsurprisingly) still in his moses basket, but then he is still pretty small ;) He does bash his arms on the sides now though, so I'm thinking of promoting him to the main cot for overnight.

Does anybody not have their baby sleeping in their rooms? It doesn't seem so :rotfl: Andrew's slept in his own room since two weeks after coming home, we just have the monitors going from 7pm until we get up in the morning. We found it didn't bother him being alone, even with strange noises coming from the ever-on PC in the corner (perhaps reminds him of the unit!), and we get a much better sleep, as the monitor doesn't pick up his small sleepy grunts.

    Tigs
ds1 slept in his room from 5 days old, ds2 was from 3 days old and ds3 only spent the first night he was born in our room. Ds4(dd1?) will also go in own room after the first night.

In fact our bedroom is a completely child free zone, the kids are NOT allowed in at all without our perission...at the end of the day they have a free run over rthe whole house our room is the only place we have that is 'ours' iyswim.
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

I like your thinking, we shall probably be the same.

well between MIL this morning and the MWs this afternoon, we've gotten nothing at all done today except 1 load of laundry which now needs hanging up. Just took a nap as last night's sleep was horrible but don't feel hugely better for it.

However good news is that it's Day 5 and Finn only lost 40g of his birth weight! He also didn't cry during the heel-prck test and no longer is jaundiced (only had a touch on Day 2 anyway) :T.

at the moment, we have him in a Moses basket in our room (obviously). My dad is coming to stay with us later this month for 3 weeks (my mom died a few months ago so this has been planned for a while), but once Dad leaves we're going to buy a cot for the 2nd bedroom to where Finn will be graduated to whenever he outgrows the Moses basket (or possibly even move the Moses basket into that bedroom if he's sleeping through...I'm happy to play it by ear).

Christmas decs are bothering me too, but it's due to lack of space! Normally I leave them up as long as possible (I love Christmas), but with new baby I have this itch just to get the flat sorted and tidy for the "life ahead" so they are coming down ASAP. We just have a wee 2 bed rented place with no storage space.

    Yay for new teeth! :T

    SS have fun in Chester!
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

ATM, my living room colours are black and silver and also have pink thrown in at the minute. Have black and silver curtains, and a black rug with pink flowers and pink flowers with black stems in a vase in the corner with pink cushions. but the mat is bogging and shows up every inch of dirt which is tres annoying!

Edit: We had a din like that on boxing day, OH is being a fussy B00ger and doesnt want ti again!!! typical!

Elle: how u feeling now? xx

hello all I am havin a lazy half hour before going to put our chickens to bed so just time for a quick qu and to say thanks for the littlewoods grabbit for one pound jeans the other day. They came today - super quick!!

So question is does anyone know where I can buy a flat bookshelf like you get at schools and playgroups - where the book faces you? I'd like one for archies room - the cheaper the better - we aren't near an ikea so it will have to be somewhere that delivers if not a local shop.

    thanks :D.

Archie is doing a wee a day in the potty now :D. will potty train next year now though as he will still do it in his bottoms if I try leaving a nappy off.

  • Hello all, i am moving over from the PG thread and wanted some advice prob a bit tmi sorry. I had a section on the 14th and my bleeding slowed down very quickly and completelt stopped about a week ago. However today it has come back and it is quite a lot. It is like a proper period. I put a pad on and had to change it within 30 mins as it was covered. I am breast feeding and today harry hasn't stopped feeding from me so i am thinking it could just be this or that it all just hasn't settled down proper and i was just lucky to have a week of nothing. I think i am just a little concerned as i lost a bit of blood on the theatre table and while i was in the recovery room, i had to have a drip and tablets to stop the bledding. How long does it take to settle down?

5th Jan, after the 12 days of Christmas, thats when the kings reached baby Jesus you see

My decs are down and only half my tree remains, I'd normally leave it until the 5th but we won't be here then - current predicted temp on the mountain is in the minus 30's :eek:
