Weezl, that sounds like a lovely night...just the kind i love too. Have to tried to catch up with the last couple of pages. Would be here all night if i tried any more. I did you see you talking yesterday about Eldon Square, that is my local shopping centre and i too remember the pencils, but as Becles said they are not there anymore. Bet you'd be surprised at the changes. I also lived in Whickham for a while too x

Mel You're such a big liar! Don't forget i've seen you in real life and you don't even look old enough to be a Mum of 4!
Hmm, you must have been looking at someone else in the pub:p

Joe has the cheapo Argos one - I can second the advice to avoid it.
I try to avoid ALL Argos furniture...after a few items we have had from therehave either gone rickety or fallen completely apart.

I've remembered the downside to the girls having sleepover parties - the grumpy, overtired, cheeky horror bag has just been sent up to bed. :(
My two have been awful today, it has been like the huse of hell.....because ds2 had been staying out, we let ds1 stay up late too. They have both been up in bed since 7pm, although I did let them watch an episode of spongebob!

Well done Ry-ry and baby PP. :T

Well done babies, I just had to go back and find out what they had done...well done on steps and sitting:D

  • Harley- if you're around I find Sunday evening to be prime eBaying time!

My stew was amazing, I am now finishing off the apricot and almond tart that the in-laws brought with them yesterday. It's M&S and it is amazing. Probably cost ten times more than my stew, but it is lush.

I've been rubbish at keeping up with this thread. I know I dipped my toe in when Edward was about 4 weeks old, but he's kept me rushed off my feet and I couldn't hope to keep up with it, and now I've looked round and he's 4 months old already :o

He is a very sicky baby, who cries a lot, and we, and the doctors, think that this is caused by reflux. Do any of you have kids with this problem, and if so do you have any tips for soothing them when they are upset? I saw that aless had posted the Happiest Baby on the Block routine a few days ago, but that one doesn't work for us, nor does swaddling, dummies or any of the old stalwarts. The worst time is when we need to go out in the car. I suspect its the angle of the car seat which does it, but he cries inconsolably during all car trips be they 5 mins or 2 hours in length, and we don't know what to do to help him.

The other thing I have started to wonder about, although I have a couple of months before I want to start, is weaning onto solid food. I've seen several references to baby led weaning, which sounds like a good way to go, but how do people cope with things like salt? I like to cook, and most of my homemade meals, homemade breads etc do contain salt, and would taste horrid to the rest of the family if I just left it out. Do people use salt substitutes, and are these safe for babies, or do they just cook without salt and get the rest of the family to add it at the table, which is not so nice? All tips and links would be gratefully received.
