3 also you could try companies like Vistaprint as they do all sorts of things where you choose your own design so could write whatever you want on them.

Also, do you think it is okay if I take LO in a taxi without a carseat? I can't see any other way of getting about, and actually meeting people.
It isn't illegal in Taxis here, I am uncomfortable with the idea, but I'm so isolated and worried about Toby being stuck inside, never seeing anyone.

What's generally considered appropriate here is that mummy wears the baby in a sling or carrier and belts herself in under the baby so the baby's fastened to her and she's fastened to the car. That's how we brought Molly home from the hospital.

Call the taxi company and ask their policy. Some firms may even have cars with carseats for that eventuality.

  • I suppose all our taxis are just cars so thats why we have to have a carseat. Only Belfast has the black cabs, so they might be different

Went to Pizza Hut for lunch and had the buffet. Charlotte was sitting on her chair tucking into her pizza and salad and there was two ladies and a girl about the same age on the next table. The little girl had a right tantrum in the high chair and was screaming and chucking food, so her Mam lifted her out, then a glass of pop went all over the place and it was chaos. Charlotte looked over and said in a big loud voice "That girl is being very naughty Mam. Not like Charlotte, she's being very good" and she got on with eating while I was trying not to crack up laughing and avoiding dagger looks from the ladies :o:rotfl:

What would we do without Charlotte to cheer us all up? :rotfl:

I couldn't leave a seat with the taxi, as we only have Hackney Carriages, no boot.

Probably not an option financially, but could you get one of those buggies where you clip the car seat onto a frame? Then you could take the car seat with you?

DKA - I'm sure the boys would love to be at the seaside :) Have you looked at what the schools are like and that kind of thing?

I had a quinny frame for his small seat, but he is far too long for it now. I'm much happier having him in the sling instead of a pushchair too.

FEely, if we get a taxi from town I tend to just wheel the whole pushchair into the back of it and leave Caitlyn strapped in and the break on.. Not ideal but better than being loose, and in the same position as if we were on the bus...

    Tia... I'm sorry...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • That's a shame AFK. I've lost track a little bit - are you still at the refuge now? Any developments about the break in? I wil have to go back via your profile and catch up you your posts I've missed.

I forgot to update with the major news story of the evening. Izzy pood in the bath. I was sat on the floor next to the bath at eye level with her and so didn't notice for a few mins too :o Poor baby! I expect that is one of those things that happens to everyone at some point, but yuck!

He should still be able to use them , give them a ring and explain you lost the card, your details will still be on the comp, if he has id on him I cant see why they wouldnt come out.
