I saw them a couple of years ago, I was paying 5 pounds to each creditor but since then things have got worse. Wife & I have a few more debts plus a large phone bill. I have suggested to wife we go to PAYG for the internet & phone services & we have got rid of sky tv a year ago as that was a luxury. May go back to the CAB for more advice. None of this would have been a problem if the RBS had agreed we were a hardship case & given back the charges. But they decided that we didnt have hardship so no charges refund.

    thanks for your advice

Are you going to be able to pay off your creditors? After lengthy consideration, I arrived one day at the realisation that bankruptsy was an better option than fighting. My credit rating got trashed quickly so I was halfway there alread. Like most people in my situation, I deferred the decision many times before committing. I'm not encouraging, I don't know your circumstances, but if life is a daily stress with debts hanging over you, bankruptsy can be a fresh start. Message me if you have any questions.

Someone else got out of the wrong side of the bed today! Sorry geoff11, but it was incorrect for Nottinghamshire. No big deal, I would be hibernating whether it had snowed or not! ;)
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I don't understand the govt. site postcode search its so out of date...........

  • Why does Martin Lewis give us false hope regards the cold weather payment post code checker, iv trawled all over the internet for this post code checker and the site just says it has moved, but it does not give a link to where it will be..How on earth can the elderly, infirm and other people find things out that Martin Lewis has told us about when they are not there. I often thought that Martin Lewis was trusted by most of the British public, but it seems to me he does not give a XXXX..
May i also mention that on his advice i payed my bank £10 for reclaiming my bank charges, this has now been confirmed that we will not be getting any bank charges back, so thanks for losing me £10 from my benefit Martin...I for one will take with a pinch of salt whatever Martin Lewis should say on gmtv or this site....False hope does not bode well with British people Martin, get your act together.....Tony, Barnsley, South Yorkshire....
  • tbone1961..you shouldnt shoot the messenger,I have been using the postcode checker for a couple of weeks and as recent as this morning,it has now been taken off and replaced with a loop ie directs to round in circles! I phoned DSS up and they said they didnt know what I was talking about so by that I can assume an earlier poster hit the nail on the head, they dont want us to know!I really could do with mine,we have been triggered 2 since the 18th Dec and as yet have only had one.

I often think these phone answerers don't know as much as we do, they don't seem to be able to get round the internet like I can and that's for sure

Have you seen how many people DID have the success of claiming back bank charges? and if you were in such dire circumstances then how come you didnt claim financial hardship with your bank instead of waiting for the court case to finish?

You can hardly blame martin for the DWP moving the postcode checker can you!

Why is it Martins' fault the DWP took the postcode checker down ??

As for bank charges wrong forum to start venting about them, and just for your info, many many people on these boards myself included did get their charges refunded. So thank you Martin for all the info.
