Found out the list of Weather Stations used plus other info as follows http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2008/uksi_20082569_en_1 (list of stations)
http://www.parliament.uk/commons/lib/research/briefings/snsp-00696.pdf (other info)
We live in rural mid Wales and our nearest Town(11 miles away) has been triggered but they are on a different Weather Station to us. The Weather Station for our postcode is 15 miles away in the other direction and not triggered.
Also don't think they use the wind chill in the results,as if they did i think more of Uk would be getting the payments.
This is not the most up to date list of weather stations. Some postcodes in my weather station were removed and put onto another, this new weather station has had a payout0 -
I think they should give old people, ill people, and those with young children, half price elect in the winter months. That would be much fairer0

i am only getting mine, because i asked why i received xmas bonus this year, and discovered i "should" have automatically been getting it for last five years
What exactly is a Christmas Bonus and how do you apply for one? I am on DLA and have been for about 5 years. Does this qualify me for it?
Thanks
Angela!!!!!! happens!!!:D0 -
How often does the PDF get updated as it is only valid upto the 22/12?New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time!0

http://pensions.direct.gov.uk/en/cold-weather-payment/home.asp postcode checker has now been updated to show triggered payments, one has been triggered for mine so far big freeze and snow coming this weekend so we may get another in time.
Thanks for that, I checked the pdf link (dated up to 22nd Dec) and my postcode wasn't listed for any payments.
Have just checked via this link and the message now reads:
The Met Office have notified the Department for Work and Pensions that 2 periods of very cold weather have occurred in the G51 postcode area between 1 November 2009 and 30 December 2009, triggering Cold Weather Payments.
If you have qualified for Cold Weather Payments since 1 November 2009 and live in this postcode area, you should have received 2 Cold Weather Payments.
I was beginning to wonder what weather station they were actually using, I knew it was freezing here. :rotfl:How often does the PDF get updated as it is only valid upto the 22/12?
Mandy, see my comments above, it's worth using Geoff's link for the updated info.0 -

We have had snow on the ground here for 12 days now and most days it has been below freezing but nothing has triggered (up to 23rd) with our weather station, maybe I need to move to where the weather station is as it must be warmer there!!!
I am totally confused now as up till 23rd Decemeber it said there was none for my weather station then today it says up to 30th December there has been two!!!0 -

thanks for looking my full postcode is DH12HA
I am really new to this so please bear with me I not quite sure what I 'm doing yet.
I know how u must feel with a baby my 3year old is waking up at 3am cold every morning but I cant afford to leave the heating on overnight as my husband has been out of work for a while and his jobseekers don't go very far and they took my benifits off me pending appeal we have prepay meter and £35 is noty lasting a week at the minute but cant afford more xx:o
I've changed froma pre-payment to bills, scared of getting my next one. I can't move yet either, and this house seems to be very poorly insulated, landlord has been meaning to insulate for a while now but not gotten round to it.
Just checked and you will be getting 2 cold weather payments.£10,000 in 2010 = £00
