In my area, (covered by Woodford triggered on the 18th), payment will be in the bank this Thursday, 31st December.
  • Ive just called IS and been told that payment is due in bank on Dec 31st:j
  • Hello all
I really cant wait to recieve payment I am disabled and have been without gas for 2 days now, no heating and no cooker (I still have the microwave until electric runs out). Before anyone suggests I budget in future to stop this happing again, I did budget, I have even borrowed, but can no longer borrow as unable to pay back.
It may seem like a bonus to some, but for others it is needed urgently.
Mine had been triggered 18th too, I am very disgusted that others in worse conditions then myself are having to wait so long.

I just pray it is in the bank this week.

I wasnt trying to be rude, but my reasoning is, it is always freezing cold at this time of year, if it had of been 1 degree thats not exactly much hotter than 0 degrees is it?

Have you been in touch with social services? The DWP workers are entitled to their Xmas break the same as everyone else, you cannot blame them for things beyond their control!

What would you have done if the weather was below freezing for 6 days and above for the 7th?

I don't think anyone should rely on the payments being made as we can't predict which 7 days will be below freezing.

Also agree with DX2 with regards the DWP being entitled to a christmas break.

Why have you been without gas for 2 days? It is about budgeting, although can appreciate you don't want to hear that.
