Waste of time!! Do you honestly think this guy will allow pick up.

Terms are clear I would pay up and put it down to experience. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

As for excessive P+P although wrong in EBays books and can lead to problems it is not the worst crime on EBay!!

I really can't believe what you people are saying - are you trying to say that someone who advertises something for sale at £3 plus £27 P&P is genuine. If its that good then why not advertise it at £25 plus £5 P&P and insurance

And to suggest that someone should pay up (and at this stage there's no requirement to do so) and write it done to experience clearly indicates that they have more money then sense (what's that saying about a fool and his money...?) £30 is a lot of money to me - try working out how long it's going to take to earn that, to just throw it away!!!

This seller is dealing in an area dominated by far eastern sellers and to have a hope of competing will have to price as such! Thats why he charges as he does. You can report him, get his listings pulled and then buy from Hong Kong if you wish!!

The feedback (although short) is all good; personally I do not see a huge problem. A year or so back I was selling MP3 players and to sell any I had to price accordingly.

Until EBay tackle this problem from the far east UK sellers sometimes have to adopt the same tactics! So give the guy a break.

The reason behind £3 and £27 P&P is most likely because it cuts down ebay/paypal's fee by a few quid.

But i think mssjab is right to some extent - i totally understand why the seller has priced it like that BUT if you're going to price it like that you're going to run the risk of people not noticing the high P&P until afterwards. And the seller should therefore be prepared to be reasonably tolerant in such circumstances.

I think that is a very fair point and to be honest he should put his P+P clearly in the appropriate box so it can be seen easily.

Nobody has pointed out that if the necklace falls apartm then the OP will only be covered for the £3 she paid NOT the postage cost. Don`t do it OP !

True, but looking at his/her feedback that doesn't look too likely.

As Hintza has said, to compete with far Eastern sellers it may be necessary to price in this way.

There are certain catagories of items I've looked at where anyone pricing "honestly" wouldn't stand a chance with a lot of buyers who only select on the headline price.

I've seen UK sellers who price the same article as, for example £1/£25 p&p and £25/£1 p&p so that they stand a chance of selling to both those who only look at the headline price, and those who will not buy from a seller charging inflated p&p. Can't honestly say I blame them.

As usual it's fleabay's ineptitude that is the root of the problem, although this case is slightly unusual as they aren't usually so inept when people are hindering their money making efforts.

    Well said liz_uk, and spot-on

I've read the other comments with interest. Am I to take it that it's thought that the average ebay buyer is so gullible that they don't know how much they're paying for something? Surely the amount shown on the payment details must give them a clue!
However, if that's the case then perhaps I should offer my 10 years old Mini up for sale at £5, plus £15,000 P&P - cash up-front of course.

And what a load of rubbish about determining the credability of a seller (or the quality of the product they're selling) based on some so called comments, made by people you don't know, and which relates (supposedly) to the sellers past dealings. You should remember the old saying "Buyer beware"

What else do we have to go on with any item on EBay? That is the point of the feedback system (flawed although it is) as buyers we have nothing else to go on apart from other buyers experiences.

If you think feedback has been bought it is normally quite easy to spot.
