No, but I wouldn't expect it to.
Like all BT communications it puts a few bits of good news first and then slips in the bad news right at the end.0 -
How cynical can they get?? I can't EVER remember using my home phone between 6 and 7 in the morning but my wife frequently uses the phone between 6 and 7 in the evening.
Oh well.... more income for 18185 in future !!!0 -
Strictly speaking - if you don't agree with the change to the terms, you offer the supplier the opportunity to continue to supply you on the previously agreed terms. The supplier can then choose to do so, or to discontinue the contract.
Hence it may not be a case of just switching "part of" a contract, the whole thing may be cancelled.
But if you wanted just to drop that addition, and you offered them the opportunity, it would be odd for them to turn it down.0 -
I'm guessing that this wan't the main thrust of BT's letter.
OP - you said that the 'good' news always comes first. Was there any good news in the letter? Haven't received mine yet but have just had my latest BT bill today and am considering moving to Anytime calls.0 -
Would the BT rep like to comment on this letter? I've searched thru the web site and still nothing.
I ,too, had a quarterly bill yesterday - as expected an extra £8+ for the infamous "rental-calls date alignment" - but no info. about a change in contract terms!0 -
Watch out for the leaflet called 15 great things you can do with your BT phoneline .
Its on the inside back page ,changes to daytime and evening call period .7am _7pm will be daytime , Evening calls will be 7pm-7am .
Set up fee will increase to 9.9p per call .Daytime rate will increase to 5.9p per minute From April 1st 2010."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
On that basis 1 call per day for the minimum length of time will equate to the cost of the Anytime plan!!!!!!!!!!0

In the space of a few of years BT's call connection charge has gone up by more than 200% and the daytime pence per minute by around 100%. I think all this is the final straw for me, being pushed onto an Anytime package by unilaterally redefining evenings is appalling. The way BT are going next year evenings will start at 8pm.0 -
