Hi, the response I quoted wasn't to me, but I've since contacted Venturer on this email .... techsupport@venturer.eu.com ..... and received a very helpful response the morning after emailing.0 -
Could you please share this helpful response?.0

I would have if it was new information, but there's no need, as the info's already been posted on the thread ... I'd checked with Venturer at the same time as asking on the thread about if it had a 'resume'.0 -
hi does anybody have/ know where to get a cigarette adapter for the unit??
oh just loaded up some music, put it on play to see how long it'd go for between 12/14 hours pretty good i'd say.0 -

If you have a 5V output car adapter for an old nokia it will work, even if you have one that is less than 5V it should still work, only take longer to charge.
Someone was asking about the chipset- The main CPU is a 120Mhz Motorola SCF5250 Integrated ColdFire Microprocessor (Marked as SCF5250PV on the chip) Datasheet here --> http://www.datasheet4u.com/html/S/C/F/SCF5250_Motorola.pdf.htm
Seems to be pretty intregrated, so could be running any kind of compression codec afaik, Due to DRM issues they will want to keep it private.0 -
Can anyone tell me from the manual what is the maximum no. of files/tracks you can have on this machine?

Well, just bought one and I don't think it says.
I phoned their audio support line and they said "about 20,000".
They also said they are planning to implement WAV recording that can be played back on a PC.
Caveat emptor of course.0 -

20,000 seems perfectly reasonable. Even if you were using 64Kbps wma files you'd only get to about that number. Given this thing has 40Gb, I'm using 128Kbps.
One thing I have noticed is a little quirk with single tracks over 1 hour long. They play OK, but the display doesn't show the length of the track. It also has no 'hour' on the display, so it keeps counting in minutes (60:00 etc.)0 -
Thing is some manufacturers (iRiver - doh!) implemented a song limit of 9999 so lower bitrates were a waste of time and effort in the end, likewise putting in a larger disk.
btw I'm not sure whether 20,000 is the precise figure but he said 9999 was definitely not the limit so should be OK.0 -
Anyone managed to successfully replace the hard drive? I don't have one to try it unfortunately.0
