  • Can anyone tell me if this player is gonna work with my Mac? From what it being said, I assume it just works llike any old external hard drive, in which case I shouldn't have a problem. Anyone know anything?

I was looking to transfer some files to a mate in work. He plugged it into his mac and it wasn't recognised as an external drive, so he had to revert to using his work pc. So not looking good :(

  • Ahhh, boo! I've reserved 1 anyway and I'll see what the support people have to say, but I won't hold out much hope. Thanks.

    Hope someone can help
Bought this player a couple of days ago, put 1,000 songs onto it, and it
    played ok, till this morning,
Sitting listening to it this morning, and the same tune kept repeating, then it came up "system error".
Is there anything that I can do, or does it have to go back.
    Any help much appreciated, thanks

Awww I wish I was so organised. I hardly find the time to listen to my collection never mind organise it.

Its on my list of things to do B 4 I die.

I did read a bad review from one person (cant remember where) of its ability to read ID3, but then another was complaining that it organised all ID3 tags in alphabet order and not song # order ...................... found this a little confusing and just put it down to reviewers inexperiance. I hope you find a solution, post back if u do.

I upgraded the firmware, and it partly fixed the problem. It now organises stuff so that when you go into "Artist" it lists the albums by that artist, but when you go into the album it sorts the tracks alphabetically by title. Note that title is the actual name of the track. It does NOT sort the tracks by file name. All my tracks are named "Track Number-track title-album-artist", but the track title ID3 tag is always left as the original title (which is what most people would do I think). This is truly pants, as I don't want to listen to it in a different order to the way it was intended. As I didn't want to re-tag my entire collection in non-standard way, I have had to resort to reorganising my entire collection thus
    Artist1
    ....Album1
    ........Track1
    ........Track2
    ........etc
    ....Album2
    ........Track1
    ........Track2
    ........etc
    ....etc
    Artist2
    ....Album1
    ........Track1
    ........etc
    ....etc
    etc
So in summary, the firmware upgrade stopped it ignoring ID3 tags, but it wasn't worth the bother because it sorts tracks by title tag, not track name as most applications would. Shouldn't grumble though. Still a bargain and nothing is perfect.
  • I'm about to go buy one, but just want to get one thing straight.

All my music is currently stored in an artist folder, then album folder, then all songs example...

Oasis > Definately Maybe> Rock n roll star.mp3, etc etc

They all have the ID3 tags to play in track order on the album.

Is there a way to play them in track order without editing anything? someone mentioned going through the files/folder option?

I have a lot of mix tapes that fluently go from one song to another, so if the wrong song is in the wrong order it'll sound pants.

can someone confirm if it's possible?
  • Just bought one anyway, and will test the order by track number thing later.

one thought though. It is most definately a brick! i would say there is no way you would have this in a pocket along side wallet / keys / phone.

However, as a peice of kit for the car with my FM transmitter this is a beauty! no-one is going to want to steal it! for £50 its a bargain for the car!

  • If someone has ordered the Venturer case, would they be so kind as to post a picture and a few thoughts as to the quality/functionality of the case.

    Thanks in advance.

The fabric camera case I found in Tesco, for just under a fiver (someone else got theirs for half that at Tesco), couldn't be a better fit, and is very durable and well-padded. Could save you some money as well as saving on the p&p too.

Do u have a link o picture. Also, I know someone did mention this b4, but the random play on all tracks isnt actually random, it uses a simple algorithm, which I have noticed seems to eventually play back the same tracks I played at the start in the same order in most cases. Anyone else notice this?
