Just found this, bet we could all find the bits we need lying around the house.... and i'm sure we could swap and change a few or even add a few more bits

Reminders of why I love you:

Sweet Escapes- For those times we spend alone.
Candle- You are the light of my life.
Peppermint/ mint - For the cool sensations you give me.
Stick of gum- For all the times you've stuck by me.
Matches- We are a perfect match.
Charmin Tissue- You are too irresistible NOT to squeeze.
Mounds- For the mounds of love I feel for you.

Hugs and Kisses- Add Your name

So If you have any to add, pop them in a post and I will keep the list updated..... I'm thinking .....

paracetamol for all the headaches you give me:rotfl::rotfl:

  • I can't remember if it was this thread or another but a big thanks to whoever mentioned the body shop sale.

Went in there today and got:

Body scrubs £2 reduced from £6
Bath puffs .25 reduced from £1

Going to wrap this as small gifts for nieces and DD

Glitter eyeliners £1 each but still on 3 for 2 so £2 for 3 - nieces and DD

Body Shop set £8 reduced from £17.50 for DD

Diffusuer eclat etoile (basically things you hang by the ceiling over radiators with a few drop of essential oil on) £1.00 each reduced from £5.00 again 3 for 2.

I have found a way of wrapping and storing presents that may be helpful.

Everybody seems to be using spreadsheets to keep track of what they have brought and how much it has cost. Next to each gift, on my spreadsheet, there is a number 1,2,3 etc. I am wrapping the presents and labelling them (on each gift tag in the top corner is the corresponding number to that on the spreadsheet). Means I know what I have brought and come Christmas I know that everyone will have all of their presents nothing worse than thinking that somebody had not had them all or finding them after Christmas:eek:

Also means I can buy DH's, DD's and DS's without any of them realising they are for them. They daren't venture on the gift shelves in the cupboard - may get lost in there:rotfl:
;) The toast proposed at our wedding was for "health, wealth and happiness". Our family may not have the health and wealth but we make up for it with the happiness:D

I never knew this about roses so thought i would share....
    img5.gif

From time immemorial, beloveds have been compared to roses. If we juggle the letters of the word ROSE we get EROS, who is the God of Love. Rose has thus been the traditional choice of lovers around the world. The colour red is associated with strong emotions and below are listed sentiments expressed by different hues of rose:-

    Laander -- Enchantment and Uniqueness
    Orange -- Fascination
Pink (Dark) -- Thankfulness, Friendship and Admiration
Red -- Love, Respect and Courage
Peach -- Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy
Pink (Pale) -- Grace, Joy and Happiness
Deep Red -- Beauty and Passion
White -- Innocence, Purity, Secrecy, Silence, Reverence, Humility and (according to some sources) True Love
Yellow -- Joy, Friendship, Jealousy, Hope and Freedom
    Black -- Farewell
    Red/White -- Unity or Engagement
    Yellow/Orange -- Passionate Thoughts
Peach -- Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy
Pink (Pale) -- Grace, Joy and Happiness
    Yellow/Red -- Congratulations
Rosebud -- Beauty, Youth and a Heart Innocent of Love
Red Rosebud -- Purity and Loveliness
    White Rosebud -- Girlhood
One Dozen Red Roses -- "I Love You"
Single Red rose in Full Bloom -- "I Love You"
Tea Roses -- "I'll Remember Always"

    1. The FEMALE always makes the rules.
    2. The RULES are subject to change at any time without prior notification...by the FEMALE.
    3. No MALE can possibly know all the RULES.
    4. If the FEMALE suspects the MALE knows all the RULES, she must immediately change some or all of them.
    5. The FEMALE is never wrong.
    6. If the FEMALE is wrong, it is due to a misunderstanding which was a direct result of something the MALE did or said wrong.
    7. The MALE must apologize immediately for causing the misunderstandings.
    8. The FEMALE may change her mind at any time.
    9. The MALE must never change his mind without the express written consent of the FEMALE.
    10. The FEMALE has every right to be angry or upset at any time.
    11. The MALE must remain calm at all times, unless the FEMALE wants him to be angry or upset.
    12. The FEMALE must, under no circumstances, let the MALE know whether or not she wants him to be angry or upset.
    13. The Male is expected to "mind read" at all times.
    14. The MALE who doesn't abide by THE RULES; can't take the heat, lacks backbone, and is a wimp!
    15. Any attempt to document THE RULES could result in bodily harm.
    16. The FEMALE is ready when SHE is ready.
    17. The MALE must be ready at ALL times
    :rotfl:

Think I might print this off and put it in a frame;)

Love these, think these might just be the thing to make with DS2 for beavers, I hae loads of pipe cleaners too...

    conversation-heart-pencil-toppers-valentines-day-craft-photo-420-FF0202VALA14.jpg

    Instructions
<LI class="liInstructions1 orange">Cut a 1- to 2-inch heart from craft foam. With a permanent marker, print a short message on the front and the name of the giver on back. <LI class="liInstructions2 orange">Now poke an inch of the pipe cleaner through the bottom of the heart, bend it down, and twist it back around the remaining length of pipe cleaner.
    1. Coil the pipe cleaner tightly around the pencil. Then gently pull up on the heart so that part of the coil bobs freely above the pencil, with several loops anchored around the eraser end.

    play-clay-hearts-valentines-day-craft-photo-420-FF0201VALENA04.jpg

    Materials
    • 3 Cups of white flour
    • 1 1/2 Cups of salt
    • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of cream of tartar
    • 3 1/4 Cups of water
    • 6 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
    • Red food coloring
    • Rolling pin
    • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
    • Small cellophane bags
    • Scissors
    • White paper
    • Markers
    • Hole punch
    • Ribbon

    Instructions
    1. Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a medium saucepan.
In a separate bowl, mix the liquids, adding drops of food coloring until you reach your desired shade.
Pour the liquid over the dry ingredients and stir. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture holds together and gets too stiff to stir (it will stiffen even more as it cools), about 5 to 10 minutes. Let it cool.
Knead the clay briefly, then roll or pat it to a 3/4-inch thickness and cut with the cookie cutter.
    2. For each valentine, place a clay heart in a cellophane bag. Cut a tag out of white paper, decorate it with markers, and punch a hole in one end. Thread a length of ribbon through the tag´s hole and tie the bag shut with a bow.
Tips: An older child can make the play clay (with adult supervision) while a younger one makes the tags. Then both children can roll and cut the clay hearts and bag their own valentines.

Another one I may consider for beavers.....
