i did my brisket joint in the slow cooker with some onion and bits and when i got home it just fell apart it was so tender... recommended cooking in slow cooker by butcher. (hope this helps)

Thanks, I don't have a slow cooker but after reading the Old Style thread it might be worth investing. If not I might try putting it on a dish with foil over the top?

    Thanks

    Hello all :j
Good job I've still got loads of time to tidy up my bedroom for the challenge.............

Actually went out today :T First time since Christmas day (apart from hospital with OH).
Did well with bag of ribbon, scrapbook bits and card bits (happy birthday, thank yous etc.) 49p..........got easter tree eggs -they were £2 but saves me having to conconct anything. I'll pop them in egg boxes and send them to sons girlfriends and roll of red textured wallpaper - do for covering christmas boxes, and two candles 49p each..........nice size and scented ones, plus couple of wooden necklaces for sons respective girlfriends -or foster daughter - or maybe me ?
Called at shoe shop and collected 4 shoe boxes to cover -by the time I got to craft shop I forgot what I wanted..............lol Ended up with some paper -be nice for sons girlfriends shoe box I think..........got home and remembered I'd forgotted half the stuff I wanted from craft shop plus printer ink
So..........now surrounded by cardboard boxes and 'stuff' that I need to shove upstairs to what will become something resembling a 'grotto'.............did at least remember to write everything I'd bought in my 'pressie book'............lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks Susan - top tip. I used vistaprint for a free personalised calendar for my Dad for Christmas. Put photos of us and the kids on. Even typed in our birthdays in the spaces underneath the date. Thought it would be useful as he's always forgtting our birthdays. Doesn't look like he's had it out of the envelope yet though ... there's 2 birthdays in Jan and he forgot both of them.

Thanks for the latest SANTA challenge. Are you psychic mum2one? LOL

I need to sort the bedroom because a while ago after 'temporarily moving' things in there I lost an important bill and forgot to pay it.

Beauty pampering - will probably do my feet - they need it.
Fridge - to be cleaned. Frost free freezer - got lots of damsons that keep falling through the wire baskets
Strange outfit - I probably often look strange when I've got my very comfy round the house attire on - so if I put on a smart outfit on that would probably qualify as wearing something I wouldn't normally LOL
Presents - haven't needed any extras for unexpected occasions in years so won't get any this time

Special occasions/Xmas folders and box - will need to sort and work on difficult projects throughout the year instead of last moment panic. I know that cards are needed as I gave one of my special greeting card folders full of cards to my son to take to his house after Christmas so I'm nearly out of any for occasions starting February.

Good luck everyone with your challenges this month - Santa and the Valentine one.

Mary on the right hand side there is a list of stuff you can get for free, just click on the link to what you want, and then you can personalise it. You do have to pay postage and packing though. Ask for the 21 day delivery as it's the cheapest, but 9 times out of 10 comes in less time than that anyway.

Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen Hapus i chi gyd! :smileyhea(Happy St Dwynwen's Day to you all!). Well, I ended up making cards, made a simple heart design one with yr 1 and 2's, and then as I had to take the yr 5 and 6 class this afternoon I did a lovespoon design with them.
I also made some for my hubby and kids (had to have examples to show the class!!!) Will try to post photos, not that impressive though! Thanks for the link to activity village pages- think it was nickybo? Sorry if I'm mistaken!
And also thanks to nickybo for advice on how to add signature- as you can see it's done, ebay going well, need to get a move on with dooyoo!
mum2one, thank you for the challenge, fridge and freezer done yesterday, will tackle kids rooms nxt weekend! :T
