    I'm very pleased with my dh. I've been at work all day so I couldn't go to the Boots sale, so he went for me :) The poor chap was rather nervous when I got home in case he hadn't got the right stuff! He did well though (rrp in brackets)-

    * Sanctuary set = £3.75 (£15) For his Mum for Mothers Day
    * 2 x FCUK Sport body spray and sports towel in a cylinder thing = £1.25 each (£5)
    * Ted Baker Men's set = £2 (£8)
    * Wooden Iggle Piggle in a boat = £2.50 (£10)
    * My Mothers Day present!!! Obviously I don't know what it is, but I do know he is really pleased with himself and apparently it's original price was £40.

    I love having presents in ready, rather than having to rush around the day before someone's birthday. And I also love how much money we saved :T
    £20.75 for gifts worth £83!!!

    Hello all :j
    Went off to hospital (had been hoping to do a bit of shopping but weather was too miserable.) Anyway, xrays done and it seems the shadow on OH's lung is still there but not as dense as it was according to 'boffin' -he says things are going the right way but wants OH to have another CT scan in about 6 weeks. The fact its not till then is a relief as he didn't seem to think there was any 'urgency'...............but he did tell OH that he's going to keep an eye on things.
    So.............relief thats over and OH now gone for well earned pint or two while dinners cooking.

    Did do a little bit of 'organising' this morning - sorted out the cards I'd made for people and put them in my index box I'd covered -have to 'create' the index cards as there weren't any but managed that ok.
    Just been fiddling about trying to make a chocolate egg out of felt and its not worked :mad:
    I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    well done nickybo, good idea sending OH, wish I`d thought of that, but he`s that tight he wouldnt have bought anything.

    Thats a relief mary about OH, well earned pint I say so to.

    I had another go at boots and managed to get two things for my niece and nephew, there wasnt much left. Spent
    £5 on a talking toy should have been £20
    £3.25 on Igle Pigle should have been £12.50

    So I had something, then I found I could get free delivery as we have a Boots 200 yards up the road. (I didnt know it was a boots, I knew it was a chemist though, never took much notice)
    Went up they didnt have any sale items, but I was in Tesco Express and got a toiletry bag, shower gel and deoderant (gillette) for £2 so it was worth going

  • I intended to go to Boots at Bluewater (opens at 10am) for the opening, but had to take daughter and grandson to hospital physiotherapy session, ended up staying the whole session and didn't get to Boots until 11.30, by which time the one thing I really wanted (Sanctuary set for £3.75) had gone. Absolutely manic in there and they didn't have much selection of stuff left. I did get a set of Ted Baker stuff for £2, a Magnolia set for £2.50 and a hand lotion and hand wash for £1.25. Really not bothered about anything else and wasn't going to buy it just for the sake of it. Have decided that most of next Christmas's presents are going to be hand made anyway, and for birthdays they all want money. Looked on the website this afternoon but everything I would buy is now sold out. Oh well...
