    Hello all :j

legend - do feel for you. I hate it when one thing after another seems to either go wrong or happen........I end up sitting fretting waiting for the next bucket of 's**t' to fall on me ! Hugs ((((:o)))

    At last..........parcel arrived !!!:T:T:rotfl:
Send stinker of an e mail yesterday (firm but polite have to add) and today chappie came to back door (said he knocked at the front but neither me nor OH heard him) and he called at civilised time..........10 o'clock ! Jacket and trainers for our lad fit which is a bonus -got to send the jacket back thats too small and seems postage for that is down to me  They advise registered post with Royal Mail..........well royal mail yes.........registered ? No. Not after all this carry on.
Spoke to insurance people and got £100 knocked off the yearly premium........:T so I'm happy with that.........saves me getting even more ''confused.com''..............lol
Bit of a pre christmas panic when I popped neighbours brownie mix and reindeer choccy bars for her daughters in a basket and then couldn't find the cards I'd made for them:eek: Looked in the most likely places and the daftest..............then moved some wrapping paper and there they were:T
Much blood sweat and tears went into making them............lol I really thought I'd have to do them again...........how daft can you get....:rotfl:

More snow last night but not much and its melting now all ready to freeze later on:(

Take care all and stay warm and safe:)

Edit - oh I'm that mad !!! Lad we look after had new tele bought him by his parents with built in freeview. Sent him down to local shop for airiel -£15...........didn't work ! Tried an old one off one of the other bedroom teles and it worked. So, OH goes into shop today and explains about airiel not working and was told that ''no guarantee given it would'' so no refund or exchange !! He ended up going of the shop as taxi was waiting for him.............he was seething so I rang the shop and spoke to the owner...........he said (after much debate) he would take airiel back but only if we had an airiel fitted by him -£175 !!! and he knew it wouldn't work because of where we lived ! ''We've already airiel fitted by you '' says I (he'd fitted one for us the other year). Then he said I'd have to speak to his wife tomorrow morning as she was in the shop and sold the airiel to our lad. He says no-one mentioned it might not work and no guarantee etc.
So.............not sure where I stand on this one but I'm going to check it out.........is Office of Fair Trading the right place to start ?
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi everyone

legendmum sorry about boiler, i think everyones heating playing up. We have 4 radiators that dont work , we got gas board out as we`re fully insured and he said it would cost £600 for a flush and they cant do it until march at the earliest:eek:. I`m not cold fires work and other radiators, it just inconvient.

hi - real tooth fairy and willow

nicky - wd on your makes...

    :T:T:T for marys parcel :T:T:T

Legendmum, i know esmers helping you but can you get on this site

download free antivirus for home and run a scan . It`ll sort it for you. I`ve been with them for 4 years , and never had a virus. I have everyone I know on it. I`m a ex-BT engineer by the way. So I know a fair bit about computers.

I made some (96) cookie monsters and 24 mince pies today ......stepson and girlfriend come and stocks are seriously depleted.....I asked did they want something to eat , they didnt and ate the mince pies and cookies.

Just a tale to make you laugh....Went out yesterday for lunch with my mates.....went to place we know food is good. Ordered beef stew....couldnt eat it , it was hotter than a curry, I wasnt going to complain as i love it there and know them all. They noticed I hadnt eaten it , so they said they`d not charge me for it and I could have a free dessert......as the chef agreed it was two hot. I was drinking tap water because the stew was so hot....I had my dessert, apple crumble and ice cream and enjoyed it....the bill come and friends agreed we should split it , so without thinking in went my £10, it wasnt until I came home I realised I`d paid £10 for nothing. My meal and tap water was free......

Susan How can you have a hot stew? It's basically veg, meat and gravy! I would have done that (pay share for meal) I'm hopelessly forgetful. It's nice that you have somewhere that you go to regularly - nowhere like that here. We have noticed standards are slipping, trying to reduce the costs of the food, but they are keeping the prices they charge high, and the one place we used to go to - you had to wait 2 hours for your meal. Grrrr.

Mary - I'm glad your parcel came ok. Sorry to be nosy but if your lad still has contact with his parents, how come he can't go home for Christmas? I hope you get the ariel sorted. We got a refund on an ariel we bought last week no problems - it was Argos though.

Toothfairy those Monkeys look brill - I'll have to show you mine I made last week when I can find my camera. :D

esmer - thanks for the link...........doesn't look like I'll get my money back:( I can't prove the items faulty other than what I've done. Think all thats left is to complain to manufacturer (item doesn't do what it says on the box) and leave it at that...........just avoid shop in future. Trouble is, its the only one in town...........still, always something online so all is not lost.

Toothfairy - super lot of sock monkeys:T

elysia - sorry, not allowed to say about lads family situation.
As for bloomin' airiel. I've been on Consumer forum and someone on there thinks I stand no chance as the box has been opened.............well why wouldn''t it be ? How do you know if things work if you don't try them ? Bum !:( Just avoid shop and use argos in future.........or anywhere, anywhere but this little shop. Shame really as I like to support our local little shops..
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Of course Mary, I'm so sorry to put you in that position. I do hope he has a lovely Christmas. Lady next door used to foster, she was like you, the kids used to think it was their second home, and kept coming back. It shows just how much they appreciate you. :A
