Toothfairy - the sock monkeys look amazing! I found my sewing machine in the house move (it was lost at the back of the attic!) and I feel all inspired to have a go at sock monkeys. It will have to be in the new year now though, too many Christmassy things to do!
Legend - I'm glad you got everything fixed, it's so frustrating when technology doesn't do what it should!
Mary - I hope you foster daughter is okay. Good news about the volunteer driverMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Nicky - the sock monkeys are quite easy to make, you can do them by hand too. If you use fluffy socks the stitches are very well hidden and become invisible. I think I'll stick to the fluffy ones in future as I'm not the worlds neatest sewer
.
I still can't find my camera to show you the ones I made, I must find it before tomorrow. Who/whatever brought my phone back after it's been missing for six months has taken my camera instead. It'll be a shame if I don't find it because, the rescue dog we had last year, was frightened of the high pitched beebing it made, and went berserk when you took a photo, so I didn't take any last year, not one!!!
Fedup - did your lamp arrive yet? Mine did and it looks lovely. My mum gave me the money for it for Christmas. :j Now I don't look after my Niece (after falling out with my sis last weekend) I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford it at the moment.

Hi
I got to send massive apologies for the flying visits, condsidering how organised I was, once it got to wrapping the presents, everything just went all up in the air.
Top that this silly condition keeps triggering in, luckly they have been mild attacks, so now can't eat nuttty brown bread and mint tic-tacs.
Do hope everyone gets there heating sorted, there seems to be a lotof problems with these combi boilers, - apparently as thr pipes are a lot of twists, turns and corners (very technical!!), and eventually into the down spout theres a lot of places they can freeze at. Every morning dads outside with the brush trying to poke up the downspout - our area so far has had -19C, but we have been forecast -29C.
Miss Hoodie won, and I ended up wrapping presents for everyone in the class... the boys all had pump bags - £1 from Halfcost, - originally got them for her bday goodie bags - but we ended up as girls only bowling party, the girls they had a mix of swim bags or piano bags (halfcost again).
Still wrapping, left ours to last, but most are now delievered, just the 2 neighbours and my uncles to go.
So ledt mum to do her share, shes wrapping all ours...... shes sent poor dad on the hunt for Santa Paws and the Robbie Williams DVD - I didn't order them, they never thought of buying them.
Just getting sorted with the post, thou guess should be very plzed with the post, we've had none for a week...... then a lovely assisgnment for Open Uni to be done by 2mor, was due 9th Dec - but took the extension.......
maon over, but a very Merry Christmas to everyone and abig thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support not just making the thread the success it is, we've alll worked realy hard and deseerve to raise a toast, but a personal thank you for all the support, with all the hassles from my darling ex and his family. Theres nowt can do to the court hearing, spoke to the cafcas officer and shes recommending no access or parental responsibility...... but we'll cross that in Jan.
A big thank you and your all wonderful people xxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Dad popped around this morning to bring Ghristmas cards (no pressies). He was dropping hints left right and centre about stying for christmas dinner and he was moaning about the prices of turkey crowns. LOL I didn't give in though and invite him. Sorry If I sound mean, but I have him every year, and it's uncomfortable - he refuses to sit, he stands there awkwardly, and he has no conversation skills - all you get is one word answers. I may ask him around for New Year instead.
Trouble is, as he didn't bring the presents he has an excuse to drop in christmas morning. Arggggghhhhhh.
Does anyone do anything special tomorrow - we exchange little gifts tomorrow to the value of £5 per person (there are four people buying for 7 people, the other three are kids). It all started when I was about 16 and Mum found out I opened the presents and re-wrapped them, because I couldn't wait. After that we were allowed to open one gift from under the tree (usually the biggest). Then it morphed into what we do now because Mum hated us getting the best present before Christmas proper.
We have to wait until my two sisters come home from work at lunchtime, so the morning will be spent cleaning, the go to mum's. Afterwards I have two free tickets to the cinema, so I think the four of us will go there. Very MSE only having to pay for two.. We were originally going Iceskating but DD still not fully well, and don't want her to be in the cold.
