Then have been making sock monkeys this afternoon. I have made 7 monkeys ready to be stuffed. Decided to do it this way and put all the parts in separate little bags. Then I can just sit on sofa during the evenings and stuff them and sew them all together. I have 5 more to do.

Do you use a sewing machine? or hand stitch all of them? If hand stitching, what stitch do you use.

    Thanks

Esmer, you can machine sew the legs and arms raw edges, but you need to attatch them to the body by hand sewing - not sure what the stitch is called (definately not running stitch) I think it's slip stitch - I don't know, I just do it. I've not made a monkey before, I have made a sock rabbit though. I need to make three monkeys next week. They are quite easy to do, they just look a bit fiddly.

Yes I use a machine to make the body, legs, arms and ears. Then I sew on by hand after stuffing xx

  • Mmmm, those cookies look delicious!

We've had quite a lot of snow, enough for snowman making and snowball fights :)
Today is DS's 3rd birthday so the overnight snow was a lovely surprise for him this morning.

I haven't really done anything Christmassy today as we have had lots of visitors, but yesterday I did buy DH's mum a lovely turquoise necklace from Sainsburys - reduced to £3 from £6. If I can find a quiet moment tomorrow I might start writing my Christmas cards, I always seem to leave them late.

Officially snowed in today - yippee, so have been sledging and then lolled around in the house the rest of the day. Watched Home alone and wrote most of my christmas cards out. The only down side is that I've been planning and planning my stock of christmas food, etc; for over christmas and new year so we don't have to go out at all and I'm wishing we had of done it earlier cos we could of done with it now!! Def. not about to starve but could have done with some more goodies/treats in.

    Tomorrow I need to:

Try and get hubby to wrap the rest of pressies (he insists on wrapping as I am rubbish at it he says)
Take the photo of the kids for our family christmas cards and print and make 9 cards
Tackle dd's bedroom, tidy, blitz, clean, ready for new toys.

Off to bed - I'm reading ' The secret shopper unwrapped - shopping is for life not just for christmas' by kate harisson. I just finished reading the twelve days of christmas by Trisha ashley which I enjoyed. Last year I read the xmas factor by annie sanders, love reading christmas chick lits at this time of year all cosy in bed :-) night all x
