Quick apologies ladies, been nipping in and out of the threads, I know theres a couple of santa - argos numbers to come across, apologies in advance for the delay, finished last dose of steriods today, so that means by tomorrow won't be falling asleep at the wrong times......... bless her Miss Hooide has been sleeping in with me, and when I get to bed, shes sprawled in the middle and wakes me to make sure I'm ok, she'll make a good nurse bless her.......... so been 40winks at a moments notice, even dropped off in mod conversation with dad....... worst big was apparently he was asking if I wanted him to put some petrol in the car before the tesco voucher expired, and he'd go halves with me....... luckly mum said yes and kicked hom out of the door before he changed his mind.......
    Be vack to normal 2mor.
I just can't say thank you enough to everyone xx

KJMTidea - join in whenever you like, obviously we are all gearing up to Christmas now, but join in properly from January and we'll have you more organised than ever. Although reading through the thread, it doesn't sound like a lot of us are. I dread to think of the amount of wrapping I have to do and keep putting it off.

Mum2one - I hope you feel more like your old self tomorrow. I'm glad Miss Hoodie is looking after you. DD1 would make a good nurse (very surprisingly as she looks tough, but she's just a big softie).

I've been and got my shopping today and picked up loads of bits and bobs for Christmas. I even bought ELF dvd for DD2's elf to bring her when he arrives on Wednesday. I can't wait for all the mischief he's going to get up to. We had a different one last year, I had to buy a new one because his leg dropped off.

I hope you are all wrapped up warm. OH's sister's arrive in an hour and a half, and we've had visitors all afternoon. Hardly anyone visits us and we will have had loads today. Do they know something I don't? ;)

Oh well. Just got to prepare tea early. Vaccumm around (again) and get ready for visitors and X Factor (hoping they'll have gone before it starts). I have bids on something on ebay ending in a couple of hours too. Fingers crossed for me that it does well.

Everyone doing the lottery tonight - I hope you win (I don't do it, so I haven't a clue why I said that. LOL)

Take care, be back tomorrow I think.

  • Hi all...

Rufus - Wrap up warm xx

fedupandskint - hope the essay is coming on ok xx

mrsow - We dont have any snow here in London ....I love looking at the snow and walking on the first lay of snow but after that I hibernate lol xx

mum2one - Rest.....rest......rest and more rest. Glad to hear you are being well looked after. Big hugs and well done to Miss Hoodie xx
p.s I have that problem of falling asleep and I dont even take steroids!!! lol

kjmtidea - Welcome to the organised house (rather than the madhouse!) Although sometimes I do wonder!!! xx

elysia2003 - Always remember people come to see you and not your house!! Hope you have a nice evening. xx

Been on a roll today.....sorted out kitchen larder cupboard...gave Xmas stuff own shelf. Gave it all a good clean down. Then have been making sock monkeys this afternoon. I have made 7 monkeys ready to be stuffed. Decided to do it this way and put all the parts in separate little bags. Then I can just sit on sofa during the evenings and stuff them and sew them all together. I have 5 more to do. Off to make Toad in the hole.....was meant to have it yesterday but I fell asleep on sofa for an hour so we ended up having a chip shop delivery!!!

Much love to all.....enjoy your weekend xx

Someone else recommended the Royal Jelly set from M&S Fedup - It must be good! I would have bought one but I have so many sets left over from Boots sale and the ones I've bought purely to get the bonus points (Elizabeth Arden perfume) I think everyone I know will be smelling lovely for quite a while. LOL.

Mum2one - I don't think we've heard from you since the challenge post - I hope everyone is OK.

Esmer - I decided not to do the bathbombs this year (again) as I bought what I thought was a bath bomb making kit off Amazon (black friday) and they both turned out to be sets. The have came perfectly wrapped, with ribbon and everything and look so nice I may have to keep them for myself.

There are some cheap DVD boxsets on Tesco Entertainment at the moment. It's worth a look. I just bought OH the entire five series of Hustle for £3.97. RRP £60 but selling for around £20 elsewhere.

I have a £10 Red Letter Days voucher if anyone can use it - I think it's up the end of the month so it's got to be used soon. PM me if you would like the code.

Light dusting of snow here, but dry and bright. Hopefully it won't hang around too long.

    See you later. xxx

    Hi Elysia
Where do you find the Hustle boxsets for that price? I've searched but can't find them
    Thanks

    Hello all :j

Had a fairly heavy snowfall last night and more today:eek: That's me in 'hibernation mode' till it goes...........(not a great fan of the white stuff:()

Had to tidy bedroom this morning.......new mattress came this afternoon.............oh bliss.............firm but not hard...........hope its as comfy to lay on as it is to sit on..........:)

Found some purple cellophane (OH gets me flowers every week and I try and salvage the cello if its any good)............anyway, young girl who used to clean for me loves purple and I;ve tried to run her presents around that where I could. Had everything out of her basket and wrapped what I could in the cello before putting it back. She's having
Snowman jar (old drinking choc jar that happened to be white under the label) filled with white bon bons, googly eyes and some lips and a purple hat (made from one of a pair of purple bed socks I had bought me and never wore)........cost of that was 50p
Choc bar covered like a reindeer.....25p
    Phone charm..........no cost there
Purple flannel with soap inside.......50p for flannel and the soap was in the drawer of spares
Diary I covered -50p -odd paper I already had
Garden fork and trowel -purple spotted -had it given me
Bath stuff in voile bag -unwanted pressie I've passed on (Got so much 'smellie' stuff)
Cup and saucer with coffee written on them.........50p from charity shop
Kitchen organiser..........about £1 for the paper
Jar of brownie mix..........stuff we already had apart from choc drops -think they were about 25p
Total...........about £3.25 -thought that wasn't bad and well under my budget:j

Tried to wrap up some more stuff this afternoon that needs posting but ran out of parcel tape:eek:
So, thought I'd wrap a couple of kitchen organisers I'm posting...........one hadn't got a calendar on it so I printed one off and put it on - that was a real mse pressie.........old placemat I'd got, paper I'd got, shopping list notepad I had given me but don't need (I've loads of notebooks !!), covered peg with ribbon and stuck it on to hold pen (freebie from bookies). I've also popped in a little notebook for her with flowers on it (plus and extra flower I added) for her to make a few notes about her garden -thats the idea anyway. Bubble wraps all ready plus wrapping paper from last year..............:j but leaving it till tomorrow now.
Hope you're all keeping warm and not slipping over if you go out.................take care:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hiya Tub - It was a misprice that someone posted on the Grabbit. There were loads of different ones, but as people were ordering the price was being corrected one by one. I posted so someone might get a bargain before they changed them all. Sorry you missed out. :(

Welcome back Susan - I hope your holiday went well, and that your all refreshed. :)

Visitors have gone. It was lovely to see them but now I can watch X Factor in peace. I'm awful aren't I? LOL ;)

    hi all

Rufus you must be one of the few without central heating on here, hope you all keep warm.

Mum2one - glad you have posted with your update, must be feeling strange nodding off like that.

I finally found the right containers for the boys pots of gold (nearly drove myself insane :) finding them over the weeks) - some dramatic red bowls (from The Pier- brand new in the charity shop 75p for the pair), think they will look with gold choccies.

Also found 2 large mugs, nice shapes with writing - coffee and cocoa on them in gold (also 75p pair)- for the snowman soups. I've bought a variety of different hot chocolate sachets including ovaltine and horlicks, also bought a pack of shortbread biscuits (£1) which is divided into 4 wrapped packs, so will give 2 packs with each mug.

Also bought a Coronation Street mug for Dad who is a fan and a single use camera as he keeps breaking his digital ones.

For one of mum's presents I bought the English Garden mag which she really likes but doesn't buy for herself as it's pricey and packaged so you can't view in advance if it's worth it.

I started to write about other presents I've bought for other people (real bargains brand new in the charity shop) then deleted as I realised that for all I know someone I'm buying for is reading this thread :) stranger things happen LOL. I wonder if that's happened to anyone on here?

I've come across people I know from the village I live, on a US site that was really strange as they were gossiping about everyone I knew of :)

I've just looked up my Christmas notes 2009 and discovered that last year I had no brandy butter as it had sold out so I immediately thought of mum2one and must remember to get a sachet of that Birds just in case I don't find the fresh anywhere.

Re my hot chocolate sachets present, in the Factory whatsit shop, they had these £1 large packs of small coffee sachets with already mixed in creamer and sugar I wondered about adding these too and what the taste is like - anyone tried them?
