    Hello all :j

elysia - can you just pop up and do my housework for me...............lol Got to tidy bedroom as having new mattress delivered tomorrow..........

Not as much snow as we thought we'd have thank goodness.............bitterly cold though.
Finished off the two kitchen organisers, took them upstairs with every intention of sorting out stuff to be wrapped - well, eldest sons stuff don't quite fill his shoebox, his girlfriends won't fit in  So, only think I can think of is either buying some gift bags for each of them or putting it all in a wicker basket (could do with getting it out of the way if I'm honest) with labels on for the bits that are ''individual'' as opposed to shared ...........things like the SOS box are really joint pressies as is the brownie mix really. It'll look like girlfriends got more than son but he's having his family history scrapbook as well. Couldnt face it today so once the mattress is delivered and sorted...........might make a start then.
Now our lad has said he wants to make a kitchen organiser.........got one old place mat left - can see me messing about with glue on christmas eve at this rate..................lol:rotfl:

    Hope you're all ok...........stay warm:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    hi girls and boys

Elysia - did you clean your house before the visitors arrived?:)

JJ - you must have bought the most unusual pressie I've seen on here so far for your mum - inflatable man!! the mind boggles - details please.

I read a tip that if you don't have paper big enough for a large present, to use paper Xmas tablecloths.

I went to start my cards last night and was pleasantly suprised to discover I had already began them some time ago, but forgotten.

Not pleased in Iceland when I went to buy somethings I wanted for Christmas, it had all gone :( struck me as strange as it was there late yesterday. But it was ridiculously busy today. I'm not pleased as it's snowing here now and I vowed I wouldn't have a repeat of last year, trying to get the food when it's icy.

Not snowing here yet, but it is rather cold. We are all going to mums for dinner, and she has the beef in already, and the chicken livers to make pate. Im off next week :) woo hoo. Im going to batch cook, and fill the freezer with pasta, and curry, and sausages (wee ones fav) I made soups laste week. Then all I have to get for the next few weeks is fresh stuff :)

I have stitched 16 of my advent stockings and presents, dad has made like a large looking mug tree, he is painting it Red and tree on top, it should look pretty when all finished. I have never blanket stitched before, so some are a bit strange looking, and Im not happy with the numbers, but overall I think it will look great and I can pick what she gets each day :)

I think im not organised and then I see what I have done. I think I just like lists to be ticked off and when they are not complete, I panic. I have all next week to craft as I have done all my cleaning, and my windows, and even got all the laundry done and Tesco shop today.

Pots of gold - just to cellphane 5 of them
    Snowman soups - DONE
    Doggie Flannels - DONE
    bathbombs - More to make
truffles - make and freeze them next week.
Shortbread - making this few days before xmas day
Cookies in a jar - just to get freezer bags to put in the ingredients
sock monkeys - to make 3  Planning to do all my sewing stuff in one go
    Cover Diary's - 3 to do
Chocolate slabs - do them before christmas, Im just wrapping in cello anyways. :)

    Think thats it :eek::eek::eek::eek:

  • Spoke to mum this evening who has bought all her presents and so pleased at being so prepared all ready, also bought a turkey crown so I've cancelled the QVC order which should save us approx £50. Then we had a nice chat about Boxing Day and plans for that and a nice chat about what food to make and what leftovers we'll have to stay away from the shops for a few days

Looking forward to this! Oh yes! Just remembered 4 weeks today for Boxing Day now!

    Morning Everyone

OH is going up in the loft later to bring down our decs so we can have a sort through and also bring down any other presents we have up there so I can get them wrapped.

Printed out the clues for daughter's treasure hunt this morning. Pics on my blog.

Hope you are all keeping warm, I am having trouble here keeping warm as we live in an old house with no central heating and its hard to warm the place up, plus I feel the cold due to my hypothyroidism. Will just have to keep busy all day. Rufus xx

  • Good morning, woke up here to a covering of snow that looked lovely and untouched. Roads are clear here now and its bright and sunny.

Have just got back from collecting my M+S order which is all present and correct and smells delightful The Royal Jelly Deluxe Set is great and I can't believe I got 2 of them plus 4 other gift sets for £3 more than one cost.

Essay writing today so cannot be on here all day!

Someone else recommended the Royal Jelly set from M&S Fedup - It must be good! I would have bought one but I have so many sets left over from Boots sale and the ones I've bought purely to get the bonus points (Elizabeth Arden perfume) I think everyone I know will be smelling lovely for quite a while. LOL.

Mum2one - I don't think we've heard from you since the challenge post - I hope everyone is OK.

Esmer - I decided not to do the bathbombs this year (again) as I bought what I thought was a bath bomb making kit off Amazon (black friday) and they both turned out to be sets. The have came perfectly wrapped, with ribbon and everything and look so nice I may have to keep them for myself.

There are some cheap DVD boxsets on Tesco Entertainment at the moment. It's worth a look. I just bought OH the entire five series of Hustle for £3.97. RRP £60 but selling for around £20 elsewhere.

I have a £10 Red Letter Days voucher if anyone can use it - I think it's up the end of the month so it's got to be used soon. PM me if you would like the code.

Light dusting of snow here, but dry and bright. Hopefully it won't hang around too long.

    See you later. xxx

Hardly zooming along with the essay. Really need to knuckle down now and crack on!

Anyway unpacked the gift sets the Royal Jelly one came in a padded gold box and another one came in a lovely pink padded box - decided to reuse the pink box for mum's pamper hamper with her Dove Pro Age items in and the DVD, soap etc. and keep the gold box for next year or other presents

Am v.excited - have booked my holiday for next year - I know its early but it means I really am going and can't talk myself out of it now! Woo hoo!!!!
