    Hi all

Mum2one, how many Christmas puddings are you going to have with 6 packs of Brandy sauce

I can empathise with the single parents on here, being one myself. Also with special needs children, it felt like total chaos when ex left and they were home with me having to do everything imaginable.

However, I've realised that I was more organised back then, compared to now :)

I'd live on Brandy sauce if I could, daft but we always put a xmas pud and sauce up for Easter, we have it mince pies as well.
Last xmas was so funny, always add a little extra brandy, Bailey jumped up, tipped my elbow - so it had a very good measure!!

Miss Hoodie has got this thing now about routeing through bags as soon as they come through the door, sure she's scared shes missing something. Hello Kitty is flavour of the month at the moment, luckly manged to get her a Hello Kitty quilt in double from Studio, so go up off Father Christmas, she's now decided shes going to ask him to upgrade her Club Penguin to full membership. xx

Hi everyone, sympathise with single parents, i was one for 10 years, wish this forum was around then...

elysia - i think my mini pamper hampers sold the best, only took 5 as i didnt know what would sell, they were a £1 each and sold out before the doors opened, next was my magnetic memo (pegs) 5 for £1.50 each, took 5 packs and they were fighting over them, then my jewellery disappeared all of a sudden, lady kept coming back and purchasing "gift" of jeweelery when she thought of another £2.50 a bracelet. My cards christmas and other occasions £1 each went quick, i know this sounds bad but the ones i wasnt fussed on sold first .
I did santa soup in a mug £2.50 they were popular. reindeer food 75p, sold out. Santa snow £1, took 10 and a lady bought them all..
    eliz shaw - 4 for £1, sold out. Mini CDM`s 8 in a bag £1.50 sold out.
Santas friends cdm and choc lollies 50p each sold out. sock cakes £1. PENCIL - 50p , bah humbugs - 75p , stall looked very christmasy and was phoned earlier to do one in 2 weeks....I told them i`d have a think about it as i got no stock.

I love the sound of those mini pamper sets, have you got any photos,
We've got a bit sorted today for the craft fair, done the necklaces and the wire bracelets, priced the necklaces at £2.50 each, and the wire bracelets from £1. to £4.
got to be cheeky what did you do with the pencils.

Made some cupcakes with Miss Hoodie, thou they were packet mixes from Mr M's, vanilla cupcakes, with strawberrry and white choc topping, they were lush, then the other box was toffee, but Miss Hoodie wanted them as cakes so they'd go further, they were ok. We've had to do a box of goodies for the teacher.

Got the fun of ringing the dentist 2mor, to hopefully get my tooth fixed this week. xx

Wow Susan sounds like you did really well!!!!

Thanks for all the messages re. single mums, it is nice to know I have peeps here to talk to!! Ditto to single mum.

I had such a lovely relaxing day. My DS had a rememberance sunday parade with Beavers at church, then we came home and he helped me tidy up - he's only 6 and vacuumed everywhere, tidied away all his toys and cleaned the bathroom!!! Then lunch was ready (roast chicken - yum!), we had that then watched a film together. I then went upstairs and finished all my wrapping - yay!!

We played a game then made scones which we had for tea. A lovely bath and a chapter of the Famous Five rounded the day off nicely. I am now waiting for x factor to start and I will do one of the very many sock monkeys I have to do - just like real toothfairy!!! :D

Bless him, he sounds an absolute treasure, hope you got the sock monkeys sorted ok.
I missed church this year, dad went, he was on parade with the legion to his church in the village where he was born, was going to go, the church service ok, but then they go down to the wall memorial - don't think carrying a fold up chair would of looked good!! xx

  • Wow, everyone is doing really well, I've got some serious catching up to do!

I finally managed a trip into town that was solely for buying Christmas presents (not paint or other boring housey things!). I feel much happier as I did manage to buy a lot of prezzies, I only stopped when I couldn't carry any more :rotfl:
I got loads in Boots -
    * 3 x the £15 No.7 facial sets (Mum, Auntie and DH's step mum)
    * Toni + Guy bag with hair stuff (DH's Mum)
    * FCUK Polished box (My TA at school)
    * Gok mini treats (DH's sister)
Because I spent over £50 I got the £10 of extra points which I'll save for their lovely 75% off sale :T

I got lots of oher little prezzies and bought all my Christmas cards too. I usually make them and have done for years but I really don't think I'll have time this year and I don't want to give myself extra stress, so I bought nice glittery ones instead.

Yesterday I put in another vistaprint order going through topcashback. I ordered a pen for my TA, a rubber stamp with my name and address for stamping the back of parcels, and a set of 10 Christmas cards with a photo of my son. I can't wait to see the cards!

I cleaned my house today. all I have left todo is the windows. I have washed the lounge curtains, once they are dry I will get the others washed and all the windows done. Also got my tyres checked today and they are all ok, so no need for new tyres.

I made bathbombs............ a couple of small tennis balls. and the rest are little stars, I have kept them in the moulds, leaving them to dry and then I will pop them out. House smells of oranges. once they are done I will do some yellow ones......... I need nice jars to put them in.

I also got a new sewing machine today, splashed out on one from lidls. Also got the sewing bits and bobs that they had. And a really nice musical tin for dd with chocolates in them to go in her stocking............. Now going to pick her up from nursery, and get her dinner on. :)

got the last of my family Christmas cards today, managed to get most of them from Card Factory so they weren't too dear. Waiting on my order from direct cosmetics to turn up later this week since it's got a load of birthday presents as well as ones from Christmas. Managed to get a few bits and pieces the last few days, some cute snowman mugs for snowman soup on 2 for £1 in B&M; dora the explorer colouring book £2 (ryman) and colour your own soft toy dog thingy £1.50 (home bargains) for my friends daughter, and cosy PJs for my mum for £4.80 from Peacocks, they were only £6 to begin with but got 20% student discount! Still need to put in some orders online for DVDs etc and get a hot water bottle to go with the cover I got off halfcost, hot chocolate sachets for snowman soup (think they're on offer in Tesco though) and some gold sweets for pots of gold. Oh and I still need to finish off my flannel reindeer as they're currently faceless and anterless!

    Hello all :j
You;re all so organised..........thought I'd better join the club so wrapped more stuff up today -foster daughters is done (put hers in a wicker basket apart from her kitchen organiser that wouldn't fit) and wicker basket for the young girl who cleans for me.
They're respective men folk's stuff is still waiting...I'll need a gift bag I think........can't see them going overboard if I put it in a basket and wrap cellophane round it .......the two hat boxes I've got I think I'm going to keep anyway. So gift bags and wrapping paper is on my list for tomorrows shopping.
Just need OH to do the fudge for fudge kebabs which he now decides need turkish delight and marshmallows.........! And the 'brownie mix in a jar'' ......no excuses for that........got the stuff I need in the cupboard and been hoarding all sorts of jars from the kitchen as they get empty..........lol
Placemat is still waiting to be transformed into a kitchen organiser.........was going to do it but hadn't got enough nice paper so that's another thing on tomorrows list.
Ho hum.............will it ever end before I turn into a 'bah humbug' grumpy old woman ???:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

just managed to get enough points so that I could get a £10 Tesco card from Valued Opinions, and a £10 Asda voucher from Maximiles! :D They'll probably take a few weeks to turn up so they'll come in handy for last minute Christmas stuff

    Hi everyone!

I had the worst night sleep ever last night , felt like I was awake the whole night.. tossing and turning and hearing every tiny noise. It seemed like when i did fall asleep the alarm clock was ringing! Thats my moan of the day! So trying very hard to stay awake this evening so I fall asleep better this evening.

Work was so hectic! But fun because I get to join in making cakes and making models with play dough with the kids lol.

I went to town after work.. all I picked up was a Batman comic T shirt for my dad (from Primark £6.00) his band is called the superheroes so he loves things like that.. All i need to buy him now is socks and jeans and he is done for Xmas!

I also treated my goddaughter to jeggings and mini pink ugg boots :) so cute.

My big shopping day will be next Tuesday (money permitting!) x
