Did go to Harrods in the end (to be honest I only go there to get bits for my stepmum - she's American so she loves all that stuff.) I got a few bits for their hamper so that's everything sorted for that apart from the stuff I'm going to make...
Cannot bear going there in the run up to Christmas, you can't move for tourists! Better to get it all out of the way now.
I do love going to Harrods at this time of year just before the rush and still manage to get a few christmas bits, but dont think I will be able to get there as have a horrible cough which I know I need to go to the Drs for but like always I am trying to stay away from my Dr.
I have managed to get a few more bits done ready for the christmas fair tonight I still have 27 days but so much to do  so If I dont post much its not that I have disappeared but I am lurking whilst supposidly doing crafting:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -

am so surprised and happy with how helpful and quick you guys are.. so im going to annoy you with another question...
i have two neices and a nephew. the girls are sorted but he isn't. He is 19years old and is on an electricial course. so far i have got him a toiletry set, sweets and chocolate. i have about £15 left on his budget. Unsure what to get him. My boyfriend mentioned tools for his course, or maybe something for his car (which he is always riding around in). I've struggled because i find it easy to buy for teenage girls but a struggle with boys.
Thanks
How about some decent electrical screwdrivers have a look at screwfix they do lots of different offers:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -
stumbled across this thread-hope you don't mind me chipping in:)
Just a thought for teenage boys-
MandM Direct have named brand clothing for cheaper prices. They have 2 for £15 on selected T-shirts. They do accessories/hats socks/named undies and gifty things that even if they are no good-might inspire you.
Here's a link to the gift section.
http://www.mandmdirect.com/landingpages/xmas.htm
Also..The Works do books on cars/music etc for cheap. E.g There was a book about the history of the Mini (car)-think it was about £3.
Halfords have got a price crash on tools (until mon)
E.g Professional 10 pce combination spanner set-£14.99 WAS £29.99!
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&categoryId=165744&langId=-1&action=listrefine&scope=inl||partnumber||10||921452||168024||178335||178269||384859||384230||644203||498303||970301||3
And 25% off some car cleaning packs.
Good luck-my friend swears teenage boys are harder to buy for;):hello: SHARING THE LOVE (OF A BARGAIN) x0 -

What about a Haynes manual for his car? Or a little work first aid kit (plasters, antiseptic, a what to do in case of electrical burns book)?
Or a Tshirt? Threadless.com still have their $10 sale on if he'd like one of those, they're unusual and pretty cool.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

HI all,
I voted for the tinies, cdsmiler and legendmum and put links on my home page so hopefully my mates will vote, they usually do out of nosiness.
When I post pictures of my makes it so that it will inspire you to make some....lol , so make away ladies.
I love that sock monkey and seen some on saturday at a craft fair for £10, mind you I thought the craft fair items were well over priced, i went for a recky and to buy, but came away with nothing...very expensive i thought
Well done all thats completing the challenges, I`m finding it difficult, seem to have things spread everywhere ready to make hampers.
Just a word of caution about I phones if anyone thinking of buying,,,well over priced in my opinion. But DS who attends college full time and suppose to have a part time job, (works 48 hours a week) So how thats part time couldnt tell you, decided to purchase an iphone. He choose vodaphone because they said delivery in 2 working days. 10 days later, they have his money, he has no phone, i email everyday, i phone everyday and they tell me they`ll ring back , they dont. And the last email I got they say , they have none in stock and it will be several weeks before they do.
Asked what the expected delivery date is , they dont know, for some reason I can see this turning into a Sky saga
As regards teenage boys and presents, mines 18 and buys what he wants. I made him a sweetie cake and all his mates wanted one...Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

Welcome welshgirl90 and nellienoo!
Hope you're feeling a bit better junior_j and the drugs are kicking in!
Thanks to those of you who have voted, although I definitely think the whole thing is more a popularity contest and the baby that wins is going to have parents who have the most friends on facebook.:( But hey!Susan, thank you so much for putting it on your homepage, you really didn't need to do that!! :kisses:
I need to update where I am with the challenge....will do a new post for that me thinks!
Big wave and hugs to everyone I haven't commented on or who is ill!!

SANTA’S CHALLENGE – OCTOBER - update!
FROM MISS HOODIE – THE CLEANING CHALLENGE
Kitchen is fine, but the whole house needs a good seeing to - planned for the weekend after next!
CHRISTMAS GOODIES – Food

HAVE THAT CHAT
Chat had! Removed 11 people from the list!
WRAPPING
Got wrapping paper to start with, although hubby will buy more as we have very different tastes! (He's classier than me!! lol). Not doing hampers really this year, but have some wrap just incase. Not sure what my ribbon status is at though....
CHRISTMAS CARDS
Still deciding on what to do with these - wanted to get a nice picture of DD holding a whisk (we whisk you a merry christmas!!) but do you think she'll pose for it? lol Then stick the picture onto cards. Should probably get a wiggle on with this!
CHRISTMAS ORDERING
On top of this!!
VISTA PRINT
Need to order a calendar for my Nan - been waiting for people to send me photos!
UNWANTED / GROWN OUT OF
Some of DD's baby stuff has gone to a local shop where they sell things on your behalf and you split the money 60/40% (60 for the shop)
TABLE TOP SALES
None around here as far as I know.
MAKING PRESENTS/ CRAFTING
NEED to do this!! And not just "Oooo I fancy trying that" - I need to make a definite decision on things!!
FOOD
Must nag Dad to make the cake!
CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS
My nan always makes one and it's only ever me, my mum and dad who have it on Christmas day!
TURKEY OR XMAS MEAT
We don't need to worry about this as most of our meals over Christmas are elsewhere! But will get the christmas meat list from our localish butchers for in-laws to order their meat!
STUFFING
Will make some homemade sage and onion stuffing and freeze it ready! One of my contributions to the meal! Must also think about making some saugages wrapped in bacon and get them frozen ready too!
FOOD LIST
We don't need to get much in - we just need to decide what meal (3 courses!) we'll be cooking for New Years eve for 5 people.......
FOOD FOR THE FREEZER
Yeah, we should probably do this too....hmmm.
CARS
My oil needs checking, and I think my service is due too.
WRAPPING PRESENTS
Oooooo no, no spreading out! Will do it over 2 or 3 nights in December!!
MEDICATION
Don't need to worry too much about this - just need to stock up on Paracetamols and Ibuprofen.
LADIES
Hair - good thought! Must book myself in...
SECRET SANTA
COME ON PEOPLE! WHo's doing the secret santa this year???

:staradminI also want to thank everyone who has voted and especially Susan for putting it on your homepage!:starmod:
I agree Clare think it a popularity competition but could resist! I entered DS in Baby of the Year in local rag when he was nearly 1 and my cousins daughter won because they had bought £500 worth of papers and sent the vouchers in! I only went as far as to climb in the local newspaper recycling bins! :rotfl::rotfl: Never again! People go to such lengths!
Anyway my 8 ASOS orders have arrived and I am well happy for an outlay of approx £10! At the rate of these glitches I will have Christmas 2011 done too!:T Off into town now to spend some more Debenhams vouchers!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!
